I got a plastic tub/bucket, the type that 1Kg feta comes in. Cut a rectangle piece out of the bottom of that, and drilled some holes in it. Works great! It's Polypropylene (PP), and heat resistant.

I watched the video and found the information useful as I am about to try and repair an APC UPS but could have done without all the bad language. I was watching it with my kids nearby. They kept saying why is he cussing so much. I had to put on headphones. other than that good video.

Except for your potty mouth this was so entertaining! Thank-You My thoughts were for you to put a 2-3 inch PVC sleave over the long pole. This can protect your wire and NOT let their feet get a grip.

This wood might have some specific uses but cost seems like the limiting factor. What is important to consider here is strength vs weight. What is the density? How much less does this dense wood weight as compared to aluminum? Then there is the factor of work-ability. How strong is it when glued together as compared to welded metal? Also might want to figure it's dielectric value to determine if it can be used as an insulator. Just from looking at the process I'm thinking that steel, aluminum and plastic will be much cheaper.

So the relay ended up sticking on which mostlikly is what killed the charging circut. The smoke signal kinda tells you to much current went threw it. Though it could have been the inverse. The varistor could have went some how and fucked up the charging circut. Though highly unlickly

Careful, those metal edges are SHARP once the base comes coffee. Gave myself a good nick trying to troubleshoot my DBM-8. Mine started sounding like a weed whacker starting up (a whined up chugging noise). I cleared out the chute of all the compacted coffee powder, but unfortunately that didnt do the trick. I ended up just replacing it with the same model. To the trash it goes

Next time: 1) weigh the wood samples before and after the treatment. 2) make a cylinder with a piston to press against steel blocks that flank the wood samples. You can then have an air compressor provide constant pressure, even as the wood becomes thinner. 3) see if you can compress the samples between blocks that are curved (ie turn the flat wood into an arch).

Why don't you people put out corn for squirrels? Then you can watch birds & squirrels. I used to be a wildlife rehabbed & did squirrels & coons. Both are adorable little critters & I enjoyed working with them equally.

A company called InventWood does this. Their process is said to render any species of tree wood with a greater tensile strength than steel.

7mpa is pressure rating per square cm, which is roughly 70 bar or 70kg/cm^2. so if your piece of wood have area of some 20cm^2, you need 7*20mpa total pressure, or 1400kg. if you compress more i bet you get those 80% reduction in thickness.

I shuddered as you attached the foil over the lye solution. In fourth grade, for balloons, I made hydrogen with lye and balls of aluminum foil. Thank you very much for this fascinating way to vastly improve wood strength. The staining by the process is attractive.
