Hi English. I have to say I didn’t notice until I read your comment. But checking it appears I can only select a maximum of 720p. I don’t know if that is correct. Anyway a lovely garden and like I said I didn’t notice any poor quality. I hope you had a great Christmas and new year. ;)
@gardensenglishanddance18 күн бұрын
Thank you for stopping by! The quality of my videos is, in my opinion, definitely lower than the average, but I do hope most people don't mind it that much. One way to solve the problem would be to change the "initial" resolution of the material but then the amount of data I have to store and process on my computer hits the ceiling. Anyway, I went down with the flu at the beginning of the festive season and I'm still coughing, but I'm going to live ;-) I managed not to infect my elderly parents who I live with so I'm really glad. I hope you and Mrs Jay Jay had a great Christmas time, without any health-related attractions :-)
@gardensenglishanddance19 күн бұрын
Dear viewers, I think I owe you an apology for the relatively low resolution of some of my videos. I noticed some time ago that some of the takes/images were not sharp enough but since then I have been unable to do anything about it. What I see on the screen of my phone is clear and detailed but after I do the montage and upload the material onto my channel, and then it is processed by the YT studio, the quality seems to deteriorate. At present my phone is the only item of filming equipment which is at my disposal. Thank you for your understanding. J.

Beautiful garden. Thank you for sharing. Personally, I would love, like in other videos on gardens, just nature sounds, no music.
@gardensenglishanddance2 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching! You might have noticed that nature sounds used in some videos on YT are actually "fake", added post-production. I didn't want to do that. While I was filming this particular garden, the sound of some machinery was audible almost non-stop, it was coming from the nearby building site. In the other cases there was usually the sound of visitors talking, cars passing, dogs yapping etc. In my own garden filming with natural sound is possible only at 6am on Sunday, if I'm lucky :-)

I’m always amazed at how well these stately gardens manage to keep the tall prairie plants standing up so beautifully. I know many ‘hide’ the stakes and pea sticks so effectively. That’s an interesting question about the plant identity Jolanta. At a first glance I thought it could be some kind of cistus as the flower and nature of the plant resembles a new one of mine I bought a couple of years ago.
@gardensenglishanddance3 ай бұрын
I'm amazed too, really. Actually, I'd also like to know the number of people who take care of such gardens on a daily basis. I suppose the "workforce" usually comprises of a few gardeners and an army of volunteers. Some of the flower beds I filmed at Titsey Place seemed to be "in the making" but there was nobody around capable of answering any questions of mine. There were just visitors everywhere. Perhaps they tend the garden at night ;-) Cistus? Cistus corbariensis? You might be right, actually. It's the first time I've heard of it as an ornamental plant; I know it as a herb, perhaps it's a very different variety.
@paultsworld3 ай бұрын
@@gardensenglishanddance We use cistus a lot as an ornamental plant - mostly the ones with the lovely dark spots in the centre, such as Cistus purpureus and Cistus x purpureus 'Alan Fradd' I also have a slightly different one, Cistus 'gold prize' - which doesn't have the familiar dark spots but does look similar to the Cistus corbariensis.

Thank you for watching! I do wonder how and when they prune all those roses. Perhaps they are pruned mechanically by a machine or at least with the help of some mechanical tool? I do not even know if it is possible. On the other hand, there was no visible damage to the stems so I suppose they have a team of volunteers who work at night ;-) I suppose you noticed the condition of the boxwood hedges.
