I think that is really awesome. I have been a CNA since 2018. So I am so used to working in a nursing home. I have already applied and have had my interview for a position at my hospital for the Emergency Department. I know that they get pretty busy which is what I like. I have never had to do finger sticks or draw blood. Not even an IV. Never did EKGs either but I am very glad to learn. I love to learn new things would love to get your input on everything.

I retired as a CT Tech at a Level 1 Trauma Center, primarily driving the scanner attached to the ED. The ED/ER Techs are the backbone of the department. All they do all day long is save lives. They are, by far, the most underpaid members of the medical staff. Our techs knew how to fire me up by telling me how burger flippers believe they deserve more pay than ED/ER Techs. They would get me started then sit back and grin while I pontificated. Love my Techs.

Thanks for sharing. I'm an EMT also and just got hired as an ED tech. I wasn't sure what to expect but your video helped. I plan on going to nursing school. I'll be doing night shift bc the pay is $2 more an hour on top of base pay, so to me it's worth it. I haven't started nursing school yet but plan to in 1-2 years of working the ED. I did my EMT clinicals in the same ED so I'm excited to be an actual employee there now.
