Lemme ask, does it matter if its a 2.5w actuator in place of a 4w actuator? Because i installed a what i thought was the cirrect one to replace my 4w and it was a 2.5w and it wouldnt even recognize it.
@HarperandKnowles7 сағат бұрын
I think they are interchangeable. The plugs match and the components are the same. The motors just draw different power to run. The 120 volts to run them is the same. The primary difference between the two 120V electric motors is the amount of power they consume, measured in watts (W). Here’s a breakdown of what that means: 1. Power Consumption: • The 2.5W motor uses less power than the 4W motor, meaning it consumes less electrical energy during operation. • A lower wattage motor is typically used for lighter tasks or lower load demands, while a higher wattage motor is more suitable for heavier workloads. 2. Potential Applications: • The 2.5W motor might be used for applications like small fans, precision instruments, or light-duty tasks where minimal power is needed. • The 4W motor could handle slightly more demanding tasks, such as operating larger components, small pumps, or devices requiring more torque. 3. Efficiency and Design: • Depending on their design, the difference in power consumption could also indicate differences in efficiency, size, or mechanical capabilities. For example, the higher wattage motor might deliver more speed, torque, or capacity. 4. Running Costs: • Since the 4W motor consumes more power, it will incur slightly higher electricity costs if operated for the same duration as the 2.5W motor. However, the cost difference is minimal for such low power levels. In summary, the main difference is the work capacity or demand they are designed to handle, with the 4W motor being more capable of handling heavier tasks compared to the 2.5W motor. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for this video! Very informative and helpful. My Amana top load washer like in the video wouldn’t drain and sounded like the drain pump was grinding rocks. The motors resistance tested good so I was hoping it was still just the pump so I went and got a used motor and installed it and works great now!

I bought the TC5 and its companion dryer about 2 and a half years ago now and I couldn't be happier with them. I bypassed the safety switch on the lid with a clothespin so it keeps running if I want to raise the lid to add something at the last minute, like the fabric softener I often forget to add. Saves wear and tear on the machine by not having to let it stop and start if ya need to raise the lid. My last washer & dryer was an old style Whirlpool set that were over 20 years old. They still worked, but I didn't know how much longer they would last and I didn't want to have to settle for what I could get immediately if they quit. Had to order the Speed Queen set and wait about a month for the 150 year old Mom & Pop store to deliver them (Billy Matin's Store, Martinsburg, Indiana) but it was worth the wait. While waiting I picked up some ancillary items like steel braided hoses for the supply lines, etc.

Would you pick the speed queen tv2000 over these two washers shown in your video? If so, why?😊
@HarperandKnowles3 күн бұрын
The Speed Queen TC5 and TV2000 (TV2) share some mechanical similarities but have distinct differences in their control systems and features: Control System: The TV2 has all mechanical controls, with no water level selector or deep fill option, meaning it automatically fills to a full tub regardless of the load size. In contrast, the TC5 offers more flexibility with its control system, including options for different water levels and a deep fill feature for better customization of the wash cycle. Design and Features: While both models are mechanically close, the TC5 includes features like a bleach and fabric softener dispenser, which are not present in the TV2. The TV2's straightforward design might appeal more to those who prefer simplicity and a no-frills approach to laundry, whereas the TC5 provides additional options for those who might need more control over their wash settings. Washing Performance: Both models are designed for durability and classic agitator wash action, but the TC5's additional control options might offer a slight edge in handling various types of laundry needs. The TV2, being mechanically similar but less feature-rich, might be ideal for users looking for a straightforward, reliable washing machine without the need for extensive cycle options. In summary, while both washers are from Speed Queen known for their longevity and robustness, the TC5 offers more user control over the washing process, including water levels and additional dispensers, whereas the TV2 provides a more basic, mechanical operation with a fixed water level. Since the TR7 doesn't really compare mechanically to the TV2000 we'll leave it out of the choosing. I'd choose the TC5 for home use and the TV2000 if I was going to stick a coin box on it for commercial use. Thanks for watching!

Check for obstructions or kinks in the drain hoses. Once I was working on a machine that kept coming back to me. I pulled the tub and a small wash rag was in the tub between it and the spin basket. During drain it would float around until it covered the drain hole at the bottom of the tub. That was a head scratcher right there. Thanks for watching!

I.e. disconnected or damaged wires. *Use voltimeter to check for correct wire grounding and ensure there is no fault.

@HarperandKnowles6 күн бұрын
It could be a problem with the pressure transducer on the control board. You may have to change the board. As unrelated as they are a technician friend of mine said he fixed one by just changing the shift actuator. I’m yet to try this but if I get to I’ll make a video about it. Thanks for watching!

So it doesnr work or switch to the wash cycle and when i switch to drain and spin it will drain all the water but womt spin.

Our old Series 70 (1988)Kenmore broke down in September and I replaced it with a Speed Queen TC5 and have not regrets. The spin tube support braces on the Kenmore are almost eaten through from leaking tub seal and the spin tube bearings and seals need replacing. I had already bought numerous parts and will rebuild the spin tube and support brackets and sell it.

What do you think is the average estimate for this repair? Im forming a decision to buy a new washing machine rather than repair and replace the inlet valve
@HarperandKnowles6 күн бұрын
It all depends on your geographic location. Where I am I charge $75 for a service call and the cost of parts with a mark up and tax. I’d say over $150 would be too much. I see where some people charge as much as $125 just for the service call. You have to figure what the value of the machine is versus the cost to repair it. Thanks for watching!

Sometimes all is required is to hold down the start button until it stops draining. But if yours continues in this fashion it could be a problem with the pressure transducer on the control board. I just ordered a TR5 washer & TR5 dryer but am now seeing some negative reviews of the TR. What are your thoughts on the TR5 vs TC5? I am not sure why SQ hasn’t increased the size of the washer bucket, and am really hoping it will fit our king bed sheets & blankets…
@HarperandKnowles9 күн бұрын
The negative reviews are from die hard TC5 fans. My sister owns the TR’s and she loves them. They are good machines just a bit unconventional on the agitation cycle. The tubs are smaller and that is one of the characteristics that make them so durable. You may want to take the king sized blanket to a laundromat that has a large capacity machine made just for loads like king sized comforters. I’m betting your sheets would fit just fine though. Thanks for watching!
