Trail shoes are even harder to let go of. I have about 25 pairs of shoes, but still, even after a pair gets to about 400+ trail miles, I think of all we’ve been through. The ups, the downs. The rocky path. The flow moments. The death marches. After all we’ve been through, it’s hard to toss them into the trash like they’re just “trash.” RIP old trails shoes of the past…

I feel your pain. I recently departed with some injinji and smartwool socks. They were in a zip lock for a while and my wife asked nicely, “WTH is this?” and I said, “I am thinking I can sew them into the start of a memorial running sock quilt!” 🫣 It didn’t go over well.
