One thing I have to comment about is the fact that in your doon gameplay, YOU NEVER TURNED OFF TEXTURE FILTERING!!! I know gzdoom makes it default but thats just a decision made by the salty creator of it. Everything just ends up looking like mushy oatmeal. For your sake, turn that shi off.

A bit late but I like the points you make, playing sniper doesn't mean you dont get counter'd, getting bombed in by demos and soldiers or rushed by scouts and demoknights reminds you how weak in close range you really are as sniper.

Im on 32:08 but i try to counter my enemies with the class i currently play, because they made it so i can counter everyone with enough effort. As a demo main i have both demoknight with better defence and sticky jumper to get over enemy team in chokepoints, so i can get from behind and deal a lot of dammage from there, also i can get to snipers this way

I have always had the baseline opinion born from playing Highlander and 6's med, that the only change I would do to sniper is slightly lower his starting scope damage by 25 points. Making quickscopes still instakill other snipers and scouts while giving other classes like medic a second or two to react to seeing the sniper. I dislike the value sniper gets from being able to ferrari peek a corner and get the most valuable kill in the game on a target that is already respecting the sightline.

I dont think you've encountered peak sniper. Ive met one sniper, in a non casual server, who would easily destroy the enemy team. Like if your head was visible for 1-5 seconds, he would have a 90 percent of headshotting and then kill you. And it wasnt a server with casuals. Nor was the guy hacking. It was a server filled with at least decently skilled players. Its just that the sniper was so good at sniping, he would just keep headshotting over and over again.

the issue with sniper is that his counter play is ether to essentially not play the game in large areas of the map or to swap to a specific play style to take care of him. It's not unbalanced, it's just boring or unfun.

Always understood the sentiment that being sniped kinda sucks in video games, but that's just the feeling of getting sniped does. What I don't get is absolutely trashing the design of Sniper. Plus sorry if you only play one or two classes regularly complaining about one that's meant to stop you from being a absolute battlehog comes across as class favoritism. There's a foodchain for a reason. If Soldier was OBJECTIVELY the best class to play in the game no one would be playing TF2 anymore because a ton of trolliders and crocket happy patriots would ruin the experience for everyone. And arguing Sniper is overpowered is dumb. Just pay attention maybe! And I'm someone who HATES sniping guns in ANY game I'm a ride or die on shotguns and pistols.

For me, it’s not that sniper is a bad class, it’s for pussies. The entire class revolves around sitting in a corner three miles away from your enemy in a game where literally everyone else is at a severe disadvantage at range, doing laughable damage or having an easily dodge-able slow projectile. People who play sniper aren’t really playing the game, they’re essentially playing aimlabs. His items even seem to reinforce this, having an item that shuts down spies without you having to put any effort in, and an item that shuts down pyros without you putting effort in. They almost seem like items that a frustrated sniper main would put in the game after having his 10 minute aimlabs session annoyingly interrupted by the other team. I have no problem with quickscopes and aggressive sniper play, those put you on an even playing field with the other classes when it comes to range. The issue is that when it comes down to it, if both teams are even, and a frontline is established, getting to the sniper is impossible.

Don't forget that there's also: Scout (he can literally triple jump with that melle of his), Soldier (you can also go trolldier), Sniper (self-explanatory) & demo with that practice sticky bomb launcher (i know not many people uses it, but flying extremely fast towards sniper, like trolldier and killing with your primary/melle is very satisfying. You can also try hybrid and even knight, but knight depends heavily on the map, still fun tho.)

Snipers are part of the design, sure, but still an outlier. It's like snipers in other first person shooters, just because it exists in real life doesn't mean sitting it right next to another firearm makes it more balanced. By its nature as the longest range weapon it inherently has an unfair advantage. It's the whole point of the weapon in real life and it's NEVER applied in a balanced way to multiplayer games. Edit: Getting stomped by a Demo or a Soldier is at least something you can see up close and learn from. Sniper is off in the distance. A GOOD sniper is NOT fun to play against because there's not even a spectacle or lesson to be gleaned from it.

The only reason I absolutely hate Sniper is because I mainly play as Heavy, which I didn’t know before watching this video that he is the least played class. But the Sniper kills me from all the way across the map, and obviously the minigun is not ideal for killing snipers from long range, so that’s really the only reason.

My issue with sniper is two things lack of options and interaction. I'm able to kill or decive a sniper easily but it's just sucks when a support class doesn't really that much "support" or some kind of interesting equipment to allow him to kill or debaliate players. Fighting against a bunch of snipers does feel like I'm playing completely different game like it's counter strike or something, with the class barely Interacting much in close and medium range unless they're using the huntsman (which has a funky hitbox), or the many crutch items like the shields and the jarate/bushwacka combo. I would say making the class harder to play at a long range like giving him a visible laser(isn't that original XD), focus more into Projectile based, high risk, high reward, weapons like crossbows, muskets, blow darts, and a few other weapons that can open up a wide retinue of options instead of camping (which I think most of the loud people have an issue with). Honestly with not any solutions in sight due to valves neglect, it would've been better off for many players to adapt the situation or pursue other gamemodes like mvm or those silly little minigames in the community servers.

After 10 years of being bully , i kind of just use game in a way of scape reality , and i was super good but never at my best because at the time i can get this bad felling of being a "no future" , so... now that i move (i use to live at a remote area ) i live in a city and can realy make friend and be happy , but i loss all my ""super skills"" so.... yea... i dont realy mind not being so goog at the game , but now i play and can realy be happy playing and not rely on my ""score"" so now i can be realy play to get good without the bad felling of being a burner for my family , so yea , i kind of fell what you saying of you strugle , and i kind of have a good memory of this box of resolution (i play on my phone so my resolution is not realy great), and nice aim btw
