You are such a beautiful dancer. So strong. You make it look easy and elegant. I work hard at ballet, but because I am so hyper-extended and super flexible, I have to be twice as strong as other dancers just to be stabilized. If you have any tips for how to manage very flexible/slightly wobbly joints, please let me know your experience!

It can be really difficult. But putting ourselves down only makes it worse. Try to focus on what you’re good at instead. And you might just need some extra strengthening exercises for your feet. 🩷

Do you happen to know when companies will start livestreaming their classes? Ive been looking all around and have only found 1 small company so far. In case it wasn’t showing 🫶🏻 I’m not saying we shouldn’t push ourselves. But I find that most dancers are relentlessly hard on themselves. I think we need to find a way to reach our maximum capabilities without pushing ourselves over the edge.
@karra827coleen8 күн бұрын

Nowadays (with social media and so much dancer content at our fingertips) it's easy to fall into the little trap of comparing ourselves to others. It's a good thing to strive and work hard to improve on yourself, your technique and artistry, but it can quite easily become an unhealthy obsession and stress factor if we're not careful. I read a post the other day from BWI, where she adressesses this topic and how to cope with these pressures related to the dance world we reside in today. I think it's best to acknowledge we all grow and develop in our own pace and that's fine all the same. On a more lighter note, I wonder where you'd get your leotard from? It's gorgeous! 😊
@Graceful.movement8 күн бұрын
@@Marijkiee Absolutely! Well said! And I love ballet with Isabella! My leotard is a custom Juliet leotard from charms dancewear on Etsy. ☺️

I was taught frappe differently. Frappe means to strike and we actually would brush our toes on the floor which helped with the quick, striking movement and quick stop at the front. I don't know what style this frappe is from. We also didn't wrap the foot which made it easier to do doubles.
@Graceful.movement8 күн бұрын
@@YetAnotherytc1234 Yes, some people flex the foot, or have a relaxed position. But the Russian method uses the pointed foot to train the correct position. It’s a different style but both ways are beneficial 😊
