I think Lindsay's film template was Karen Smith from Mean Girls. Despite being one of the Plastics, Karen is generally quite nice. The movie was less than a decade before Total Drama and Lindsay even looks a bit like Karen, as well as being extremely stupid and extremely nice at the same time. Even though the dumb hottie stereotype has been around far longer, I think Karen was the example they looked to when they created Lindsay.

I thought Gwen’s elimination from world tour was bad too, we never even heard of the allergy til right there and it felt like she deserved to get a bit further after all that’d happened to her the past few seasons and the elimination felt like a cheap trick to keep Courtney in and cause more trouble

for noah's elim in world tour... it was annoying and forced. noah was only taken out of the game because the writers wanted to add duncan back, so, they decided to make Noah randomly suspicious. they would've won the challenge anyway, they caught ezekiel and that was the main objective, it just shows the writers didn't care at all about noah's elimination. they should have worked more with noah being suspicious of alejandro. in Slap Slap Revolution noah asks why alejandro is trying to motivate the other team, they could've added a confessional of Noah in that episode saying something is wrong with alejandro. there was so many times where it was painfully obvious, and noah being classed as "The High IQ" he should have been able to figure something out and have a more relevant and interesting plot line then being a forced out player. and if they really needed him gone that much they should have had him win the comeback challenge at least, world tour could've been better. merge could've been noah trying to get alejandro out for revenge, heather and noah could've teamed up, owen told duncan what noah said, so that could've been another alliance. there was so much wasted protentional for noah that annoyed me in world tour. i don't think anyone would've mind such a change, hell, noah doesn't even need to be in the final four he could be elimated along side duncan in the episode he was eliminated. (sorry for ranting)

I don't think any of the main characters are npcs. Gummigoo was one of the first npcs who was even able to become self aware because of the new update Caine mentioned. The line about him mixing up players and npcs more likely refers to the fact that Caine may have accidentally killed someone at one point.

I didn't like this episode, it seemed just... too flat honestly, and plot for plot's sake than anything. The only good thing about it was the song to which the episode took its name from, Mastermind. Also, I don't get why the even try to pretend to have any sense of order and law when, literally, it's just hell. Why should they care? Though the system is definitely flawed for sure. The fact they even bother with things like this is just kinda asinine and pointless in my way of thinking.

For me... the only good thing about Mastermind was Stolas' duet with Blitzo (Mastermind), Sinmas, for me, was about a 5/10. Octavia's song is okay-ish... but definitely just seems too "teenagish" not to mention it's clearly out of ignorance and miscommunication, not to mention jealousy. I really hated that because I was always against those kinda teenagers even when I was a teenager myself. She just assumed so much when she shouldn't have. I really hated that "stereotypical response" that kinda just made me wanna roll my eyes at her and smack her upside the head and say 'you don't know sh* girl don't f. up the one good thing in your life'. I liked the balcony scene though.
