The 30s look cool in the shorties. Long gun needs short mag. Short gun needs long mag. The DSA 30 rounders also have a reputation for being reliable. Another thing that would be really cool is to host some event like the defunct Manticore Arms Illinois bullpup shoot, where DSA brought out post-sample FALs and RPDs to shoot for barely over the cost of ammo.

The DSA FAL is one of my favorite weapons I have ever owned. If the magazine issue gets sorted out I will absolutely get another one.

Good that DSA is buckling down with the mags. When it comes to the FAL, the magazine is definitely the weak link. A bad mag renders the gun useless. BTW, DSA also makes a damn good AR! Their ZM4 is mil-spec and very accurate. I have two FALS, standard and PARA; and a rifle length ZM4 and carbine length.

This was a cool stream. I never knew why certain types of wood or lowers were phased out (due to things like cracking). The FAL is not my favorite rifle, but it is one of the greatest of all time, and it deserves to live forever in the hands of those who appreciate it.

The specialized reviews and updates on this older but remarkable battle rifle are worth the effort,. Robert at DSA updated me about the 30 rounders but I had no idea about shortages of 20s, we stocked up years ago with a few hundred but no 30s. As I wait for delivery of the short barrel (8in) ordered last month I'll watch for your next review.

Definitely looking forward to the updated pistol grip. I like the SAW Grip, but a more vertical grip will be nice. Also, as for the magazines, I have 8 of the plastic DSA magazines, never had an issue.

What’s the point in buying a firearm when you can’t get reliable mags. Work on getting the mags to the public first before anything else. No small batches. Keep them in stock like Scar mags that can be found everywhere. Might end up getting rid of my unfired para just because you can’t get magazines.

Well FALGUY, I ordered a 21" Traditional classic model today largely in part to your positive reinforcement of DSARMS. So if I have any issues with it or an extractor goes shooting into orbit im holding you accountable!

Both the SA58 and the PTR-91 are manufactured in the US, using licensed blueprints and some OEM tooling, and generally comply with the original specs, but some small changes have been made to both in order to facilitate production in America. DSA is a class 3 manufacturer with contracts to modernize existing FAL's in military and law enforcement agencies in South America. PTR is a boutique gun maker, that primarily serves the American commercial market only, but some of their products are listed on government supply websites. The SA58 is the nicer rifle with better ergonomics, while the PTR is more cost effective. Both rifles fill their intended purpose and will offer years of reliable service. You cant go wrong with either one.

I like the FAL but you know what i always said if i cant get a FAL or an SLR (inch pattern FAL) I would get a G3 you know what i want both ha ha
