the 2000 has been updated a while ago and has a proper condese siphon now. It also inherited the hex from the 4000 and able to modulate down to 3.2 KW. Not many boilers can do that for that price.

Ideal boilers are shit and not worth the buck, Vaillant, Baxi etc are the best and every engineer is happy to work on easily, Vogue is the only Ideal boiler I would suggest as a last resource

The best way to detect a breach of the bladder in an expansion vessel is to shut off boiler flow and return and drain boiler with AAV open. Pump up vessel to 1 bar and maintin at 1 bar as the boiler drains until no water draining and expansion vessel still showing 1 bar.. Then , close the AAV and submerge the drain pipe and check for air bubbles for 5 mins. If no bubbles all is good. If it is an external expansion vessel it would mean removing the flexi pipe and submerging
