many years ago, my mom's friend asked for roux in san francisco. They had no idea what that was :) Tylertown ain't too far from where i might move eventually, near kentwood. i'm 1/6 owner, just gotta figure out income out there, or just a way to live. 😜GUMBO! Okay, here's what i got of the recipe.. Make the rue, 50 : 50 flour to oil, got it. Stir, stir, stir. Add sliced okra and then about a half pot water? Bring to a boil and simmer two hours.. Add the crab and shrimp, simmer a bit and then add hot sauce....Tabasco works? Serve over rice. No onion or garlic or anything? If there's a secret to the recipe, i will find a way to shoot you an email and we can keep it hush, hush. 🔐 😁 Great show as always, really enjoyed the guitar pickin' 🎸🦀🍤 All the very best buddy!

For the oval magnalite roaster, add 1 med onion, 1 grn bell pepper, 1/2 cup cellery, 1/2 head garlic (all chopped. Mince garlic (raw) . If you can manage, instead of adding water, add some type of broth. Home made seafood broth is best. But water can work in a pinch. Chicken stock is a general go-to. If you can find some, add some clam juice (whole bottle). With this gumbo starter, you can add just about anything. Just take your time and get that roux right. The heart of gumbo is the holy trinity, and the blood is the roux. With that you can't loose. Hope this helps ya'll out. Just know, if you are gonna use a magnalite roaster, you are gonna have a LOT of GUMBO. Peace!
