Lore - plasma swords that really should kill the wielder before the enemy, yet it does it so well that the enemy can be diced up. Disney SW lore- Being killed by a lightsaber is impossible as you can be stabbed through and be walking 5 minutes later like nothing happened. and the wielder of the lightsaber is so incompetent they don't even make sure you are dead. Probably why Maul living through being chopped in half was such a buzz kill during the clone wars.

I guess everyone really wanted Disney to bring in more Ewoks and was disappointed Jar Jar Binks wasn't in their spin off and movies? It wasn't like the franchise was some great piece of work for the ages. A New Hope was great because it was so new but really a very basic story. Empire was genuinely good and guess who didn't write or direct that one.

It's wild how Lightsabers are like cardboard tubes in everything Disney Star Wars except the sequel trilogy and The Acolyte.

The best style of lightsabers in the franchise are definitely the sequel/rogue one kind with the amazing colour and lighting. They should just go back to doing that since these new ones do not look good and also literally shake on screen

It's a problem with Hollywood films in general. Awful "comedy" shoehorned into everything, even in moments that should be serious. It's a lack of respect for your script. Cowardice to fall back on formulaic gags to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Bloody awful.
