This position has helped alleviate my chronic backpain from ankylosing spondylitis. It has also helped me find a way to rollover in bed without groaning in pain. I was almost able to take a nap in this position on the floor (which was a recipe for me for disaster in the past) and was able to change positions, get up and back down gracefully with no pain. Thank you so much for sharing this.

I’m very new to Feldenkrais and have been dealing with life altering problems coming from what I feel is severe rotation in the c2-4 area. I have tried everything to fix it over the years unsuccessfully. It goes right through my whole body. Can this method help me to somehow realign? For some reason even calming the nervous system daily does not stop this issue. Any suggestions? Thank you for posting.

Hi Stacey, Yes, I believe that things can improve. maybe even reverse the C2-C4 area. in some cases the improvement is dramatic. But patience is key. and this is such a super delicate part of our spine, I am reluctant to guide you much more in text. Please be careful and present and safe.

Such great advice. As much as our work is very functional, there always seemed to be a gap in my takeaways after a lesson or group class, and strategies in how to apply in my day to day life. The strategies you outlined here helps close that gap:)

I guess i dont have a “frozen shoulder,”, This didn’t help my shoulder issue as i mentioned my shoulder issue has not been resolved, i thought this would help , but,i have done every ,form of Feldy, Alexander, and somatics i don’t know why .
@InfiniteMovement7 ай бұрын
It takes time and commitment, a lot of patience. You must be consistent, but gentle and careful and always present. and take many break. to rest. Adjust, reduce, slightly increase. Incrementally improve. That's the only way to approach an injured shoulder in my view.

i was doing this lesson again the similar question came to mind again of my upper back shoulder ( tight chest)!?
@cinmac3 Жыл бұрын
do have one for tight chest upper back shoulder , i don’t t know if there is a connection, but,, my upper arm under my armpit is sore from nerve damage having had shingles years ago , i don’t if this is connected do you have any thoughts of easing nerve damage.

Nerves do regrow, in principle, but no neurologist will ever be able to predict if it will grow enough to make a difference. In general, my personal recommendation is to do this lesson (and every lesson!) much more gently, with shorter sequences,smaller movements, simplify, so that you can do it with NO PAIN whatsoever. Then gradually build from that.

Doron why do you wait a week to continue a lesson? I dont know if , i should do the kast one again , some teachers have never given me any answers, there were a few movenents, i believe 162 and 144 were only two numbers i remembered and a cat stretch lesson4,ithink Some instructors make these movements a mystery, which confuses me, unless they just want money, thank you for reaching out and back to me.

why quickly ? if we need to do slow. we need to slow to teach are brain,isn’t that true.
@InfiniteMovement7 ай бұрын
I said "quickly" meaning that I can show more of the full lesson in only a few minutes. Each person needs to learn to pace themselves... Glad you are taking it slow. And sometimes we actually do move fast. less accurate. more effortless. sometimes with momentum too.

Easy does it. Please do very little. Rest a lot. Pace yourself so you ensure progress rather than a setback because you over dit it. With shoulders you gotta be extra safe.

Ps, it would be excellent if you followed up with a video of actual walking posture and foot placement from start to finish in a stride.. just so that we can view this in real terms.. ie, actually walking in motion utilising what we have learnt from your excellent videos. Thank you in advance.
@lailakhan4726 Жыл бұрын
I have watched this video so many times and, it is only today that i have remembered how i walked naturally and with ease as a child.. my eureka moment was whilst watching it today. So, thank you for this ! So much.. i have struggled immensely for the past 6 to 7 years with walking naturally.. followed thousands of posture and walking videos, practised walking so unnatural to me, until this evening! I completely get it! But, i completely forgot it for so long.. ! So, a huge thank you for helping me to re align my body by focusing on this tiny but hugely important point! No where else has this been explained in walking and posture alignment. For more than 6 years ive saved so many posture and alignment videos, articles which made me walk unnaturally. Heel centred directly behind foot, weight on or in front of ankles.. caused me so much pain. When, the answer was right here. Simple, factual and natural. Thank you
