What a beautiful palette! Congratulations! I don’t have a Little Brass Box Roberson but I own a Craig Young box that is very similar. It’s a great feeling to own something that, if taken care of, will outlast me and never rust. Mine is holding up well. Although, I do find myself “babying” it. 😂

It is a special feeling to open and use it. Coming from humble beginnings to have such a paintbox is very appreciated 💛 so happy you have one too, I will have to look up the Craig Young ones to see

I’m in the FB group with you! Hello! I saw this posted there and wondered who bought it. Just gorgeous! I use La Petite Palette for my handmade brass watercolor boxes. I also buy Etsy custom made 3d printed pans that fit into the spaces in my brass palettes if I want more colors or if I am not sure about a color. I get pans divided in 2 also. Love your video! 🎉 See you in the group.

I absolutely love the colors you chose for this palette. I only have a few of these colors, but I am inspired to pick up a few of the others you have. They are such different colors and I don't typically see people using most of these colors on their palettes. This is a very original (and BEAUTIFUL) palette setup! I would love to see the mixing power of this palette one day!

Oh you're SO lucky to find that gem. Right away I joined that Fb watercolour stuff sales group, but all I could see were those annoying little Altoid boxes...one after the other...everywhere......( probably artists who were initially lured in by the cutesy element but then realized they never actually use them ) and half squeezed - out tubes.. not much else really. Though I might try to sell some of my own palettes, ( been " lured" a few times myself 😅 ) which are numbering in their 20's now. Maybe even as a " bundle "

Hi, yes this was a wonderful surprise! We just never know who will post another treasure. I have also found vintage palettes/brushes on Etsy and Ebay, when I first started getting serious about watercolor I bought a “lot” of paintbrushes from Ebay and still have many of them to this day. Love your idea to do the lot 😊

One of the loveliest selections I’ve seen. Question: where did you purchase the little corner trimmer and the wooden block with circle?
@watercolorpour7 ай бұрын
The corner trimmer is called a -Corner Rounder Large Punch, 10mm- found it on Amazon years ago. The wooden block with the circle was from my late grandfather’s wood shop 🥰

This box is really cool! Thanks for showing it to us. I would love to have one of these...but, Unfortunately, the paint tray is not for me. I use single half pans so I can pull colors out/put colors in to different palettes. I like to switch my main studio palette up often, and I have multiple smaller "limited color" palettes that I switch up very very very often. I like to keep things new & fresh and I like to push myself and use/rotate all the colors I have so I don't stay stuck using the same colors all the time. If I didn't switch up, there a few colors that I would only use because they are my "preferred colors". I also do not like to make duplicate pans of the same color, and having single, movable pans allows me to switch a color from palette to palette to avoid making duplicates. Also, the multiple mixing trays make the palette bigger than I prefer it to be.

The Roberson palette comes in many configurations and layouts, for instance the inside tray is removable so you could request a build without it to be able to use the pans you mentioned and it can be ordered without the oval flaps, can even add a thumb ring or thumb hole. John also makes other style brass palettes, they are just beautiful.

Cute box with a gorgeous selection of colours. For information, I recently used Milford paper and it doesn’t like masking fluid. It was very difficult to remove.
