As a retired doc, may I say how difficult it can be to make a diagnosis without an exam, but you are exhibiting symptoms of ‘computeritis horrilibis,’ a disease for which there s no effective treatment. I should know. At my advanced age, it hasn’t killed me (yet):and provides the interest in life, costing money like a sinkhole swallows dirt. I’ll probably meet up with you at a computer store in the new year. Good videos. Thank you.
@FrugalWanderer19 сағат бұрын
Man. You had me there for a second. I had to do a double take on the disease. You are correct. There is no cure and I couldn't be happier with it. Haha

Harking back to when you had stomach upset and you took medicine for worms. Do you feel cover for bacteria in street food Sean?
@FrugalWandererКүн бұрын
To be honest I really haven't had any issues with the street food. I had a few issues in Thailand when I first arrived, but that was sorted quickly. I just play it smart. I look at the oil if I am getting fried food. If it's dark and smells old,.then I move on. Same for fish. If I smell anything funky, I move on. I just mostly look for places that are busy and are preparing a lot of food. That way I know that it's made fresh and if the locals are supporting it, then the chances are that it's safe to eat. The sickest I got here from food was one day I got an orange fanta. That made me so sick. I havent touched another one since. Haha

I always Google any medicine. I even did it back home. Also it's impossible for me to reach out to a doctor back home. They do not take phone calls and I would need to show up in person. No thanks. I'll stay here. Haha

Definitely delicious yummy Khmer noodle soup 🥣

It was absolutely delicious and hit the spot
@KimKinal2 күн бұрын
When feeling sick you should have chicken porridge. Eating soup with noodles with make it worse. just tell the vendor if they have ‘BorBor Sach Morn’. The porridge is not the porridge you think, it’s like a soup with rice in it.
@FrugalWanderer2 күн бұрын
I actually eat that kind of porridge all the time. There are a few places locally that deliver it to my house for just over a dollar. I really enjoy it. It's my usual go to, when I go out. This was just a recommendation from the seller and it was delicious

Nice video, thanks Sean . I’m surprised that this stuff is available in Siem Reap and was expecting to have to make the occasional trip to Phnom Penh to satisfy my tech requirements. Have you seen any audio/hifi outlets also in Siem Reap?
@FrugalWanderer3 күн бұрын
That is kind of why I wanted to make this video to show that it is possible to get computer stuff here and it not cost an arm and a leg. As for the audio stuff, there are way more of those types of stores here than I expected. Now I haven't seen the huge 5.1 surround systems for home audio, but I have seen a ton of reall huge speakers that are emant to be used outdoors for parties and they can be gotten fairly cheap. They love karaoke here and it is nothing to have a neighbor signing at the top of their lungs some evenings, but they do wrap up early so it's not an all night event like we would have back in Florida. Haha
@psycox87583 күн бұрын
Good to know, thanks 🙏🏻 If all goes to plan, should be there mid April 🤞

How much was the pc and monitor you bought 2nd hand, thanks?
@FrugalWanderer3 күн бұрын
I paid $460 for the system with the monitor. I was going to try to haggle, but when he said that he was going to be driving 2 hours to get it here, I didn't even think of it. Plus he was a really nice young man that was trying to sell it so he could get himself a laptop. I'm very happy with the system so far. I spent most of yesterday tweaking it and playing video games. It was great.

@FrugalWanderer4 күн бұрын
The price of the movie was $2.50. That is the regular price of all films here unless they are in 3D or if you get a special seat. I really enjoyed the movie. I love the horror movies here. They remind me of the ones fromt he 70's and 80s that I love.

@lenshand4 күн бұрын
Hi Sean. Good to know that there are computer stores there. I was going to dismantle my systems and bring them over, then just buy cases, monitors, keyboards, mice and power supplies there. But maybe I can just build a new mega system in Siem Reap. Thanks for the video.
@FrugalWanderer4 күн бұрын
You can easily get most parts here. I would recommend that you bring whatever small parts you can carry because things here can be a bit more expensive than back home. Things like processors and video cards do seem to maintain their original price and you do not see sales here like you do back home. You'll have to haggle and shop around if you want to get stuff here. I've seen tons of computer cases and monitors here for good prices. Good luck.

I am glad that you have found the place you like. It seems that rent , food price and people are great. The most important of all that you like it. By the way I went to Aeon 1 and I found the place that you had a pried chicken and a good coffee for $7.00 on the 3rd floor. Guess what it is still $7.00 today.

I'm very happy that I found Siem Reap. It suits me perfectly. Which I didn't know I needed until I got here. That's awesome that you found the place at the aeon 1. I really enjoyed it for the price. Good to know that they haven't changed it. I'll definitely be back there the next time I visit Phnom Penh.

I wish to establish an account at Acelda Bank in Cambodia. However, I was informed that I am ineligible to open a bank account due to my non Cambodian citizenship. I expressed my confusion, especially after demonstrating that numerous American citizens have successfully opened accounts in Cambodia, provided they possess a visa permitting them to reside in the country for over six months. Furthermore, I possess a Cambodian phone number; nonetheless, the bank representatives insisted that this was insufficient. They indicated that I must return to the United States, notify the U.S. Embassy, huh? of my intent to open an account, pay the requisite fees, and return with a receipt from the embassy. I am of the opinion that the banker may be lacking in expertise. I will explore the option of ABA Bank, as I believe it may offer me a better opportunity. I greatly appreciate the insights provided in your video; it has proven to be priceless. Thank you very much.
@FrugalWanderer5 күн бұрын
That sounds very frustrating and is not at all what I faced with ABA. They were so helpful and they made the process painless and easy for me. I have had a few friends go to ABA and they had just as easy a time as I had. The only requirements they needed was proof of a visa longer than 6 months and they verified the visa on my passport, and a local phone number because their app is tied to a local number. The whole process took a half hour at most and their service has been great ever since I opened the account. Good luck

Hey Sean, I am curious how much your flight there was mine was 800 and second can you give me an idea of what neighborhoods are good I have big time mobility issues so would like a lot of local cheap food close by
@FrugalWanderer5 күн бұрын
I paid $1200 Canadian on my flight. It was pretty reasonable because Fredericton is always a bit more expensive than other cities. It's a pain. With mobility issues, I would probably recommend Sok San road area. It's close to everything downtown and there are a ton of decent restaurants there with local and western food options. It can be a bit busy there but it may work. I'm not sure how limited your mobility is. You could stay anywhere here and get a tuk tuk fairly cheap or get delivery quite cheap too. You are never limited with options.
