While you have them springs out Tait, send them to a spring company to be reset. The springs steel will have sagged from being loaded up over the years. Tell them you want a better ride because you won’t be loading it up and tell them what ride height you want. It’s a few extra bucks, but you have come this far and the softer ride will be a lot nicer to drive. You are better of not sandblasting those panels. It’s to easy to warp thin skin on bonnets, roof etc. sandblasting things like the inner doors, door jambs, engine bay, floors etc are fine. Keep up the good work mate👍

Hi Tait, congrats on getting into Street Machine man, that's a big achievement. Love watching your build, good on u for having a go at the rust repairs as it can get a bit overwhelming if u haven't done it before. Good on u for having a go and u will get better each time u pick up the welder. Me and my brother restore old Holden's also and we just finished our mates 1 tonner which we took to Summernats this year, u may have seen it. Check out our channel and builds on Cars n things restos. If u need any help don't hesitate to reach out. Keep it up, great work. 👏👏🤙🤙

Very nice new episode... Roof welding; really good result...impressed. Question, define "thin" ? I hate my GTs 0.7mm panels 😅 Impossible to weld properly... loved the welding drama part.... Greetings from sunny Finland

Hahah thanks mate, pretty sure the roof was 1mm thickness maybe thinner but that’s nothing compared to what you’re working with. I can imagine how painful it would be trying to weld 0.7mm 🤣

Great work mate, getting lava blobs is part of the fun . I've still got a crater on my foot from a rouge blob that jumped into my shoe, i also yelled in pain and cut my ear while attempting a rapid escape from under the car! Hope you keep restoring cars after this one, very talented at your age 👍

@@Louie2309 Thanks mate hopefully with the following i've gained someone would be willing to help out but I'm super lucky that my old man is a spray painter by trade so that is defiantly a big plus. @@michaelbyrnes7944 Totally agree mate, the gutter itself couldn't really move to much because I had welded the main part that keeps it in place but it was more the skin/sheet metal roof that I was worried about moving.
