This is my 1972 Holden HQ 1 tonner AKA HQ1TN running a 253 fluffy with an AUSSIE 4 SPEED
I repair all the rust in my original 50 year old guards and get them preped for epoxy primer!
I'm 17 and have less than 8 months before i get my P plates and i want the tonner fished before then!

Great work your doing there buddy. Most guys would get replacement guards, but your repairing what you have. What is your background mate, how did you learn your craft. 👍

Thanks mate, when your trying to keep cost down it was a no brainer to repair the guards as they weren't that bad. Before I began the rust repairs on the tonner, I'd never used a welder or done any fabrication/metal work in my life. My old man had never done anything like this before and we have both learnt together along the journey. No background just practice 👍

Thanks mate, yes i will be applying deoxidine to the bare metal before everything goes in epoxy. Just didn't get a chance to film it for the video 👍
