You mentioned that you shorted (4:00 min) at the peak on each side, can you elaborate on what you did. Just cutting the distance in half or did you actually cut the wire.
@jroweinc2 күн бұрын
Cut the track shorter equally on both sides. The wire doesn't need to be cut as it can hide inside the track. Hope that helps!

@jroweinc2 күн бұрын
You cant connect more than 120 lights per power supply/ controller. That is how many lights are in a 200ft kit. You need multiply power supplies/ kits. However, you can group all your kits together in the app to sync. Hope that helps!

What do you do on gable ends with no soffit ?
@jroweincКүн бұрын
The tracks can be mounted through the sides. However, I’m not sure how the over all look would be when installed that way. There are few screw in 3d printed mount options that could work in conjunction with the track. My personal opinion is that you would want a trim board installed first to mount the tracks and/ or lights to.

With the 3 way split does it affect the color pattern on where you put the y. I have the power coming from the garage and I wanted to go in 2 opposite direction from out of the garage will there be an issue with the lights doing the color shows in sequence.

@TheSlasherKG10 күн бұрын
Question, when you Y-split, both segments do the same patterns right? So if you have a chasing effect, they would be going opposite directions (if you did the split at a corner with one going left and the other right)?
@jroweinc9 күн бұрын
Correct, in the video above the splits (upper and lower) are headed the same direction across the back. Hence the cohesiveness. Just like Y in a roadway, where you split the flow will follow
@charliepereira483710 күн бұрын
Love your videos very informative. How far away from the wall do you usually do the install? Is this house 4 inches away. When you put in a 3 way I seen videos that the lights where you put the 3 way don’t synchronize properly is this true. I wanted to put a 3 way at the beginning of my lights and have them go in separate directions due to power supply plug outlet in my garage. Govee said you can’t.
@jroweinc9 күн бұрын
Maybe they thought you meant splitting the power supply. Idk, however, you can clearly split at the beginning of your first strand and go whatever direction you want. You just can’t have more lights than the kit in question is made for. Max 120 lights on pro 200 for instance.

Thank you ! Sure, understandable viewpoint. Many customers want the peak light. So, it’s perhaps better to begin there when that’s the case, so even spacing can follow from there.

Could you show how you build your Y splices on this job. Looks like you had to use 3. I have a similar layout on the front of my house. I was wanting to use individual lights during the year as accent lights around the corners of the house. If my thinking is correct, after the Y splice aren't the 2 light strings just a repeater of the original string before the split. If that's the case, if I try to just turn on one peak light wouldn't it also turn on the related light after the split? Thanks.

I received my Track System a few weeks ago, just waiting on the weather to finally cool down to do the install. Upon inspecting the Track Kit, I found the Snap On "Never Fall" Light Puck Mount Covers to be too too big. When the Govee LED is mounted to the Track using the 3M tape, The "puck " is then snapped into place. If the 3M tape were to fail, the Govee LED would fall right through the "Puck". I've messaged the website, because that's the only option for communication. I still have not heard back. @jroweinc if you are reading this, check your messages and give me a shout. I'd like to have a resolution on this before I rent a lift and spend a few days installing my Govee LED's.

Have you compared other lighting system installs like trimlight, jellyfish and oelo that all use a channel and create a professional permanent look? Even with labor install cost you will find the cost is about half of those others when going with govee. The tracks are not priced that way for greed, and I am working to reduce costs. However, to make it viable that’s that it needs to cost. Thank you for your comment.
