We have Gemstones on our house. This doesn't do Gemstones justice. There are much more vibrant and unique lighting patterns they could have used to show the Gemstone lights in action. Plus, the Gemstone lights are VERY robust and weather proof. The only visible wiring or hardware for the Gemstones is the Controller, which is usually mounted in the garage.

@@kennagel3989 absolutely! In fact the latest design doesn’t “require” you to even use the vhb 3m sticky pad (although you can if you want.) The intro effects are much more subtle on your channel. While you might believe they still take the time to build homes with actual support bearing corbels...That is not the case here. These are what are called in the industry "faux corbels" and provide aesthetics only. They are nailed onto the exterior merely for looks and serve no structural purpose.

Awesome information. I am in the middle of install and need to make 2 y jumps, both with a immediate light run on one end and 20 ft extensions on the other side of the Y. Assuming i splice an extension midway on each 20 ft run to get the booster, should this work
@jroweincАй бұрын
Should, although I reccomend using the exension up stream toward the power in full then adding as short of splice wire as possible that way. There is more than one way to skin a cat, the important thing is not to damage the square driver and in the case of the 12ft extension I believe you need both.

The best advice I have is for you to offer your services focused on the value you provide, rather than on price. If you aren't able to get the price you feel is deserved, become more valuable. While I know it can be hard to turn customers down...and we all have to earn a reputation and experience over time....to build said value. However, sometimes you may not be in someones budget if you are valuable enough.

Which the pro kit 200ft, where do you place the booster when connect to the Y split?( what if I have two strands on the left and the rest on the right Y). Thanks!
@jroweinc2 ай бұрын
you want to place the driver/ regulator (technically not a booster) as close to the 5th strand as possible. This devise actually serves a voltage fluctuation device that protects the lights and helps them function optimally. I generally place where it is conducive to the architecture of the home.

When splicing, do you have to cut between lights, or can you simply use the supplied connectors and create, essentially, a wire segment between two Govee segments? I’m not having any luck with this approach. I used 18g wire (about 25’) and attached the supplied connectors at each end. When I put this section in between the full Govee sections, the sections on the other side of the new wire does not work correctly. I thought this would be better than actually cutting between the lights, but apparently I’m mistaken.
@jroweincАй бұрын
You need to incorporate a govee extension with driver "box" in it for that length extension likely. Also, that is correct....as the lights themselves act as a booster/ driver/ regulator to help cary the signal....there is too much voltage loss otherwise.
@mcg35342 ай бұрын
Seems nice we have open eaves so I don't think they'd work for us. Would need to be able to screw to each eave and hope they line up ok with the 24" gaps and somehow shim them to the pitch angle so they don't aim at the wall.
