Great response! I have noticed this myself on many paintings I'm drawn to even though, as a painter, I pick up the little discrepancies in other people's work but they don't take away from my enjoyment of the painting.

I so agree with this! ❤ For so long I was struggling that I'm not painting the "right" way, I was thinking that I'm overdoing my paintings, that I'm adding too much details, too many layers but at the end the results are very eye-pleasing and I love my paintings. I find my own way what techniques to use, how many layers to add while I'm painting, the goal is at the end that painting to look good. 😊

Great video. You made some key points to common problems a lot of artists experience.

Just what I needed to hear today. Yesterday I finished something that took me 6+ layers in parts to get dark enough, but I was fighting the fear of going too dark at first. I thought it was overworked until my non-artist husband said, "Oh, I like it better now." No one will know how many layers I used. But, I will be doing practice pieces with what seems to be too dark pigment on the first go to better train my eye. Congrats on your precious baby!

I finally created my first painting that wasn’t overworked. I left it for several days before looking at it. It seems watercolour has to cure or my mind needs to rest from the adventure. I worked music further up the brush and it really helped.

As with almost everything : Get to know your area of interest. If you want to paint "better" (meaning: to know what does what under which circumstances), paint more .. learn your paints. The more you get the "muscle memory" of doing it a lot, the easier it will be to paint free and without "thinking too much". Great topic and answer Liron

Couldnt agree More. As Time passes I find myself painting everytime further and further from the paper, trying to ser the whole picture, then the details and little mistakes become meaningless
