Hi all, I lived in a Queen Ann Victorian home for 35 years. I renovated it twice and collected a wide variety of furniture and decorative accessories over the many years that I lived in that house. Fast forward to 2011 when I met my current partner. In 2013 we purchased a mid-century modern home built in 1950. Suffice it to say the house is fighting my antique furniture collection. Having done minimal renovations until this year, we decided to restore the home to mid-century, but still keep the furnishings in a variety of European and Asian antiques and accessories. Oh the fun I've been having, so this summer, we're going to have a big sale and move out all the leftovers and castoffs from my prior house. We'll be up and running on KZbin soon and share the experiances with everyone. Mark & Scott.

Hey Mark and Scott, thanks so much for the message! Your project sounds so interesting. Make sure too send us the link as would be happy to follow along. We had the same problem here in Finland when we moved in together, our apartment is 1960s and Robert had a lot of antiques....still trying to sort it out haha!

Another great video. I will have to have a look at your Shop. I use my nice thing all the time. one of my best friends lived that way and I learned that from her. She said these things are meant to be used and enjoyed. Part of the enjoyment of having them is using them. Great video, Jeff❤

Loved your vlog today and couldn’t help notice one of the photos you showed was of The Moulin restaurent and the beautiful Chateau in Verteuil, I lived for 12 years (2002 to 2014) in a gorgeous little Moulin on the L’argentor in Poursac and would walk there every day, I now live in Ireland in a pretty village in County Kildare about 40 minutes from Dublin. Thank you so much for sharing your life in the Charente, I still miss my time there but am so glad to be here near my daughter now I am of a certain age (76).

Hay fellas, I love the ideas, and the photography, and your choice of classic music. Unfortunately, a lot of old objects have lead, and other heavy metals in them. There are testing kits you might want to use to discover which items can be safely used.

Thanks Allison for the comment. Will look into the kits!

I collected American 18th century furniture for many years and I started with the motto that: If I can't use it, I don't own it. I have found that antique furniture is better constructed than most modern furniture. I wish you great success in your endeavor. Bon chance!

Think that is a great idea. Did go and take a look. Not to much that I really like and I would advice that you give a bit more information. For example the little silverplated jug. You speak of dents and damage. Take pictures of that so people see how big the damage is. Also give the size of the pieces. When I first saw the jug I thought is was a water jug. Then I read its a small jug…but what is small? The size of a milkjug?
@charenteliving

Thanks Nicole. Will add more info, it seems the jug was the only thing we forgot to add to measurements to. Thanks for watching!
