WOW! Stunning video production. I love your little office / studio, as well as your graphics design / drafting background which gives you the knowledge to lay the images over the top of each other. I sold my T7 for the same reasons you did - too heavy for my riding capabilities, height and weight. I'm going to upgrade to a new DR-Z4S as soon as they show up in Washington.
@SwankyCatProductionsАй бұрын
Thanks, I really appreciate that!!! I'm not sure I'll end up going that route, but the new DRZ, and the old one for that matter have really been calling my name recently. As fun as my new XR is, something even smaller and lighter with the same "woods bike" type feel sounds like a lot more fun!
@terrarecon16 күн бұрын
Same - I am looking at the DR-Z4S. I like the old bike but am very happy about the incoming DR-Z4S. The new bike has some pleasant upgrades even if it did not get a 6-speed. I like the fact the new bike now has a fuel gauge. I hate fuel range guess work. But what I like is that for the most part, I think that the new bike will be just as reliable, still have ease of maintenance, and be as bullet proof as the older bike, not to mention lower insurance if what I stated holds true compared to other bikes. Also, I am sure it will be easier to squeeze out extra HP with an ECU flash and new exhaust system if people want to go that route. I just need to see what feedback journalists and others have to add to my own opinions.
@DualSportDoug16 күн бұрын
@@terrarecon It should be just as reliable, or more so, than the current DRZ. I have 21,000 miles on my 2002 DRZ that I've had since 2006. I hope the aftermarket tank companies develop a higher capacity tank for the DR-Z4S. I'm not terribly disappointed in the lack of a 6 speed on the 2025 model. I've lived with a 5 Speed DRZ for 18 years, so it's not a show stopper.

I love the looks of the T7 and the riding triangle. I would have bought one of these if it had been available, but I got the Africa Twin instead two years ago. I did get to look over the new Himalayan 450. It is a quite comfortable riding position. Good value, though still a little heavy. I am thinking maybe I would just get another DR, a new one, and set it up just the way I want it. The JNS lowering bracket was perfect for me on the DR, I should have done that years ago!! The Acerbis Xgrip frame covers look good also. I kept the stock pegs for now.
@SwankyCatProductions2 ай бұрын
Yeah me too! I didn't think it could get any cooler looking, but it has! I would really like to see the middle thinner, but the thinner side case cover should really improve the already comfortable ride. I would really like to get on an AT some time. I've sworn off the heavier bikes, but maybe when I'm a little older and a little more responsible, I'll be able to own one without trying to take it on single track 🤣. I can't decide if I want to lower my DR pegs yet, I think I probably will. They're just not bothering me like they did on the KLR for some reason. Ride safe my friend!!!

Is the 21 tubeless?
@joshdoddadbod2 ай бұрын
@ComfyDadShoes nope. Tubed. Makes sense since it's an offroad oriented adv bike. But the good thing about tubeless is you can put a tube in of needed so tubeless is still better IMO.

I heard somewhere else that the infamous exhaust bracket has been improved. Loos the same but maybe it is rubber mounted so it flexs rather than bends ?
@SwankyCatProductions2 ай бұрын
Interesting, it did definitely look like it was beefed up a bit!
@martin481916 күн бұрын
You missed one of the most potentially important changes, they moved the gas tank forward and down. This is why is looks different. I’d have to wait for reviews if this makes much of a difference with the bikes “top heaviness”, but this is my biggest issue with the bike while off roading, as it’s not very forgiving on balance and can be a nightmare to get back up in certain conditions. The suspension upgrades might be a very good thing for some people while others will still want to upgrade that?
@kameronleitzel81092 ай бұрын
You missed the wind screen is gonna be a 1 piece instead of 3 piece which i don't like. I would expect that to drive replacement costs up

I just traded the 2023 DR650 for a 2024 Tenere. The 2025 would be nice, I'm sure, but it's November, and there are a lot of 2024 models sitting on showroom floors. Yamaha is offering a $1,000 rebate right now, and the T7 seems to be discounted at many dealerships. I got quotes from a few regional dealers and a local dealer matched my cheapest offer, plus removed all dealer freight and prep fees for an OTD price of $8,351 (I wanted a gray model and the dealership just had blue, so they bribed me). It's heavier than the DR650, and I am going to have to lower it and bring the bars back a bit, but I already enjoy riding it more than the DR.
@SwankyCatProductionsАй бұрын
Nice! Yeah, it's good to see the prices have gone down and that you can actually buy one! It's definitely a whole different type of animal than the DR!

I am about to buy a tenere 700. I visited the dealership the new 2025 models are coming in March. Should i wait for the 2025 model or go ahead and buy the 2024 one. The display, traction control features are not something that i am interested in. I loved the black camo color the new one seems terrible. What could be a game changer is the weight distribution. Do you think i will be a big upgrade or will not even be noticeable
@DualSportDoug16 күн бұрын
@@johng4014 My dealer has rebates on the 2024, which knocks the price down to $9799. That’s a decent amount of savings. The 2025 will probably see another price jump.

Why does yamaha hate the US and refuse to give us different versions?
@SwankyCatProductions2 ай бұрын
I was thinking about that the other day. My guess is that they either don't have the capacity to manufacture them, or that there's not enough interest to support more than the standard model. Neither seem all that likely but seeing as they've struggled to get even the original model in the US for the past few years, that it has something to do with Capacity.
