Dang this is expensive. Does it really need Houdini + Nuke? I feel like most who are learning Unreal won't want to have Houdini on top, at least hobby/enthusiasts. If you have Houdini, you may as well make animations in there entirely.

The video is great. After watching the video, I quickly learned the skills of making car movie animations in UE. However, there are two questions in the case I did. I hope you can give an answer after reading it. The first one is where the control amount of the Z-axis offset of my tire is adjusted. I didn't understand it, which caused my tire to deflect upward and out of the car body when encountering obstacles. Second, can the bones of the car body also have a similar Z-axis offset? Otherwise, the K animation frame will be too painful. I hope you can make a tutorial on this, thank you.

Check sketchfab and cgtrader. You can filter by “free” models. Some of them can be really good

I think someone and I have encountered the same problem, using the spline to achieve the blueprint animation can not bake transformation, export FBX will not produce animation, may I ask you how to do it, maybe you did not use the spline in this animation to drive the blueprint animation is it?

When “bake” did you pick “use all keyframes” option? Otherwise it doesnt work :(

Good day! Do you know of anyone/anywhere that gives a 110% tutorial on what settings to use during export (and the settings' meaning)? Also, I'm looking for some help on the actual settings (8,16,32 bit, what controls to export, what values to use in UE5 as a good starting point, etc.) to get these things to show up properly. I can't tell you how much time that I have wasted just tweaking things without knowing what I'm doing to hopefully get to an end result. There are also several VDB materials out there (Self made and the on in UE5) that all seem to work a little different from each other. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

when gaming it is mostly fine and has a bit of "shhh" (don't know how to describe better), didn't measure it (as I don't have device for noise measurement) during renders it is full blast and noisy :D

When I import the VDB sequence, the list under Source Grid Info is so long that it reaches the Import button and bugs it out. I cannot click on the Import button whatsoever. My VDB sequence was created in Blender.

Omg, thats probably UE interface issue. Have you tried it in UE 5.4 maybe? Could be fixed in newer version

When you recorded your live link camera add spotlight to the sequencer-> attach -> cinema camera actor

I dont understand how you do for the layer structure in Blender !!! there is a step not cler for me! for example for the body ! did you select all parts of body and use Ctrl+j? because after its impossible to solve the Callipers problem !! any solution? thanks

Hey @Post Processed I noticed that VDBs are very choppy and stuck when Time Dilation is applied. Looks like it is not interpolating especially during slowMo in sequencer. Wondering if you have a fix for this. Thanks for all the content you've been making man. Can't thank you enough. Please keep em coming.

hey man! This is problematic as you need your VDB sequence also be higher framerate like 60 or 120. That will lead to huge size of the vdb which can cause issues. I think better would be to create a "slow mo" animation and pass this slowed animation to Embergen\Houdini. This is a downside of simulation approaches. That you really need to bake your final animation slow it down/speed up and when it is final - only after that create a sim that will suit your animation

I dont understand how you do to import an FBX in one static mesh!!! when I import my car's FBX its disassembled parts, and after check "combined mesh" I cant control Wheels!! thanks for help.

Yes, there were some improvements in quality and performance, also VDBs now cast shadows in Lumen and are affected by indirect light. The process seems to be quite the same

You can still push the envelope.. put the AIO on the top of the case, then use the RTX 4090 with closed loop liquid cooler (e.g. MSI GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X) and put the radiator on the side bracket 😉 maybe I'll do it.. thank you for the inspiration!

Quick question here. My vdb temprature is wayyyy off the mark compared to where my smoke is. Is there a reason for that? for eg. is my smoke is at point a then my temprature/fuel is at point b

Love this form factor especially here in the Philippines where power outages are common and could be brought to areas with electricity for game development. I just wish more companies have better monitors sku that is color accurate yet still portable.

Привет , подскажи пожалуйста, почему если я затаскиваю vdb в секвенсер то он там воспроизводится и прекрасно проигрывается , а когда начинаешь рендерить или включаешь gamemode то он перестает работать и его вообще не видно.Галочки playing и looping стоят, Все делаю как ты показывал

yes, well it is really nice that you can work on lower system in UE, using lower quality textures and resolution and than render it, but yes with longer time

Well main difference is that with legendary edition you get also racing track environment, which has quite good details (it is recreation of Nurburgring) and the highest also includes personal call with discussion or assistance from my side

hello, i could need some help , is it possible to use an imported geometry only as an Effector und not as an Emittor. I want to manipulate an fire emittor with an imported Geometry but the Geometry himself should not burn. but rather it should effect the emittor with his geometry, i hope this was clear, my english is ugly sorry, , sadly i cant find an option like that. In Blender forexample, when you start a simulation, you can us an Geometry as an Effector inside the Domain Box. I really need this Option in Embergen. Someone can help pls ?
