Thank you for that insight about straights at 15:39 , it's very true and something to bear in mind

my coach always said to be a lot me careful when a straight comes in vs a flush. I never asked why, but this seems like a good explanation.

@@Mat-oh3xe if fish have a lot of offsuit combos of connector hands like 67o or 78o as well, they have a lot of straights too

@@GokuTheSuperSaiyan1 Good point, a lot of fish treat suited and off suit connectors as basically the same hand. Probably goes back to the good old days when commentators would say things like "Has has 78 these connector hands are very strong because they can make very disguised hands"

Great video. The intro is how I describe my game to a T. I was pleasantly surprised , I think I would have played close to as suggested. Hand 3 would have really been a test of my mental game, in game. Think it’s time for a re-watch.

@12:45 AsTx, As3s are the only value combos villian is 'reppin bro'! However, we are uncapped with straights and sets, so its always a bit suicidal for the villain. Another factor for call I can see, is that the Ax is often checked when villain's have thick value, as they know you'll use it as a bluff opportunity. As such, their betting range has less value, the only exclusion to this theory is when villain has the A, and doesn't expect you to have it, so they jam it (hence why it feels like AsTx/As3s) mostly AT though, A3 feels so thin....

16:00 How about shove? Looks like best candidate for bluff.

Don't know about the call with AK on the double paired board.....when I see river overbets at 25NL I usually think it's villain making a misguided attempt at being polarised, as if we're meant to believe they're perfectly balanced in that spot and they'd also do that with the bottom of their range...they don't, it's almost always the nutterbutterz. Turn overbets are different, and I actually think they are heavily weighted towards high equity bluffs. Villains don't overbet value in those spots at microstakes because they desperately don't want you to fold.

I'd tend to think if capable villain goes way over the top like 2x-3x the pot the bluff is much more likely. Just little over pot... much harder to be certain, could very well be tilted for value.

As we don't know player at 13:00 we can't fold imo. The only reasonable value hands our opponent can have are: AT, A9. Hero has itself T9. We unblock all the flushes, we unlock all the straits. Opponent can try to use A on the river to throw away us from our pocket pairs that didn't bet turn

I agree with all of the analysis here except for the AJ high hand on the 4 straight board. I think the 4 straight board dramatically reduces bluff frequency despite it being a blind v blind spot. If anything, the scattered line here represents some showdown on the turn that thinks it doesn't have showdown on river, and turns into a bluff. I expect to lose quite often to a random 6x hand or under pair. Call with a pair if you want to. Calling your worst A high seems ambitious.

hand #9 - "villain is a rec with any two cards" indeed. a range that includes approximately 3 dozen flush combos . . . because recs are often sooted. the Kh5h he shows up w/ is actually fairly reasonable compared to the outrageous hh hands he would call with. Th3h, 9h4h . . .
