It has been some time since I have felt compelled to participate in FNV discussions and this video has reignited that little passion in me. I adore the presentation, however a couple things theorywise arent sitting right with me. (besides the fact I desperately want to drink Caesar's kool aid on the origins of Lanius and your theory crushes that image I have of him in my head) Something id like to point out about Antony's account is that he never distinctly said that the Hidebark's warriors were allowed to join the legion, rather he said "Caesar showed mercy to the survivors, allowing them to join the Legion" This is relevant as it no longer conflicts with what Caesar tells us about having brokered a deal with the bedridden Lanius who's one condition for compliance was that he be "allowed to kill the surviving males of his tribe" to which Caesar replied "make it the adult males and you have a deal" These survivors are now a mixture of male children, who will be future legionaries and female slaves (who fufill many roles). Something else to consider about the account of Lucius is that his tribe was conquered when he was just a boy which makes him as indoctrinated as they come, and while Caesar isn't entirely trustworthy based on his handling of Joshua Graham's death, or possibly underselling the difficulty of conquering the Hidebark tribe; I'm still inclined to believe the self proclaimed Son of Mars himself over his subordinate. Caesar's manipulation of truth and myth is to keep his own men in line not us. Lucius would not say what he said about Lanius had he not been instructed to or were genuinely led to believe so by Caesar. Caesar has gone to great lengths to ensure that individual tribal identities are replaced with the Legion's monolithic culture, so for him to perpetuate the idea that his heir apparent Lanius was born under the legions banner for the sake of myth and inspiration wouldn't be anymore of a stretch than taking what Lucius says at face value just because he's been in the legion for so long.

super cool vid, except the brotherhood ending is not cannon. the minutemen ending is. the institute still gets destroyed, but liberty prime is never rebuilt. but also, maxon gets to live and so does the prydwen so its not all that bad for them.

I think realistically the brotherhood is the only faction that could bring order to the wasteland but it would have to be Lyons type of brotherhood where they are a little more heartfelt. If the NCR were properly equipped then maybe.

Unless the side in quesrtion has the sole survivor on their side. I mean that guy creates fusion gemerators all over the commonwealth all by himself. They are also the sneakiiest bastard around. Usually infiltrating all four of the major factions until they decide which ones to destroy.

My question, though, is what happens after. It is very unlikely that the Legion roll over a Camp Golf headed up by Ranger Hanlon and serviced by Veteran Ranger units. I think in the scenario of a Legion victory at Hoover Dam, Hanlon's greatest obstacles are actually taken care of for him. These being the poor leadership of the nepotistic General Oliver, and the NCRs government's kidd glove handling of the Legion Threat prior to the second battle of Hoover Dam. Just as Lanius learned from the defeat of his predecessor, I think Hanlon and the NCR will do the same. I think in the long game, the Legion ultimately suffers from the deteriorating mental stability of Caesar, and the subsequent psychosis of Lanius, who rules through strength and will be much more of a despot than Caesar could have ever been. I think after Hoover Dam, the NCR affords more resources to the Mojave and installs Hanlon as its new General. Veterans of the Mojave Campaign regroup and ultimately, the NCR takes the Dam back, and becomes the Mojave's final ruler. Then Maxon and the Eastern Brotherhood of Steel bring Liberty Prime in and kill everyone as revenge for the destruction of the Mojave Chapter. The end.

I want to say that because the government had many experiments done that they would create sub groups outside of the Enclave and with given code names, which thus gave birth to the institute. They later found a cure for the FEV because of our character. Fallout 4 introduced the first cure for the FEV

Mate it was navvaro air force base then raven rock, it was there ptesident on posidon oil rig with the air force base as there feild FOB, raven rock was still idle wiating for commands till enclave appeared, infact greyditch there is a enclave soldier who use to live there and details how he travled from navvaro after its fall to out east, never knowing aboit raven rock as only the command staff where reacged out too by eden.

Without courier intervention it is indeed likely the legion will wij the battle of the dam, however crumble afterwards. While the courier can help the ncr in a plethora of ways, he is also required to keep Caesar dying from cancer. While lanius will definetly be able to keep control over the legion during the battle of the dam, it is unlikely he will be able to hold such a vast empire united much longer

BoS has tailor-made BGS plot armor. The org should be a footnote at best in fallout as it's isolationist cult-like practices are inherently ineffective at gaining influence over the wasteland but of course it keeps coming back as a major faction basically just because it looks cool.
