How tight should the magnet roller be? The thing that screws on that the magnet housing goes over?
@fredkaempf80582 күн бұрын
Hand tightened is enough.
@mikeoneal48822 күн бұрын
@ thanks for the advice. When I hand tighten, it stays wound up. Should it only be tightened enough that it allows it to “wind back” into the starting position ? I hand tightened and it seems to stay all the way forward vs if I loosen a tad, it rewinds backwards. Or does that not matter? Just want to ensure I’m doing that correctly. Great video and thanks again for taking time to respond to my rookie questions

Very important: If you are doing this conversion you need to add a switching relay. If you don't, you will be using both high and low filaments at the same time when using high beams. Prius Chat has a thread ("How to convert from hid to halogen" from August 11, 2017) that goes in to details. Make sure that you read the entire thread, as the initial solution posted by member "Texas Hybrid Batteries" has a drawing that might be confusing/incorrect.

We always called the little jiggle thing in the t-stat a jiggle valve, because that is what it does. It jiggles to let air bubbles to move along better. LoL

I have a 2013 with 193,000 miles dose not use oil, I use Cast 0-20 EDGE for older engines I change oil and filter at 5,000 miles have you tried non Ethanol Gas? So far so good I am amazed, I served my apprenticeship in 1965 working on foreign cars I was the only American in the shop the rest were Italian the best wrenches in the world as it was rare that the final test drive found ZERO what a great time when we rebuilt fuel pumps, generators, adjusted relay generator box to find the sweet spot around 14-15 volts with a full load? You bring back the olden days when we rebuilt any engines from Ferrari, Maserati Alfa, Lancia, Fiat, Austin Healy, 3,000, Jaguar , Sunbeam and tractors? Life was so good back then nothing like the criminal Element that serves in Washington???

24.40: Never ever ever EVER remove the sensor from the clockspring!! I followed this video precisely, and that was the end of the steering angle sensor (SAS). The VSC light (vehicle slip) came on, and couldn't be reset. Had to buy a second hand part clockspring+SAS, one from which the two had never been separated... and do the process again. Then it was resolved.

Great job. I replaced it. It was a big pain. Thank you. I got the code p2601 and i realized the cooling fan is not working. The estimate at the shop was $800~$1000. I just bought the part for $60 @eBay. I did it myself and took 4 hours with my hand tools.

I thought the 2nd gen Prius' were tanks when it came to the head gaskets? What did you do to blow it? Also, when it blew, how did you ultimately know BEFORE you got it diagnosed? Was there smoke coming out of the tail pipe?

@josesifuentes77297 ай бұрын
I just saw this for the first time. Well done! What you call a motor is an induction coil. When electricity is pushed to that coil it causes the magnet to push the piston valve open. The only way that a coil can malfunction is for this coil to become open or cut open. It will never fail. The fault will be with the stuck valve due to carbon buildup. The mere act of cleaning it will assure that it will always function as designed.
