So, I'm wanting to buy a gauge 5 steam engine, and it's price is a pretty penny, my mother on the other hand thinks I'm wasting money on something she thinks doesn't move at all, and at first, she thought I was trying to buy a real life, to person scale steam engine.

My Dad was a fireman for 7 years before becoming a steam train driver, which he only got to do for a few years before switching to diesel, but he always said that being a fireman put muscles on his eyebrows! His party trick was crushing someone hand, he was only 5'5" and would challenge strapping body builders to shake his hand but once he started squeezing he'd have them crying like a baby! 🤣His grip was incredible!

A very good film explained in very easy way but don't spring clean pit top to much most pits had little grot spots here n there which does add character the air locks had three doors to go through not 1 and a question for you do you still have the robey steam winding engine from cihber colliery in south Wales it's amazing that the headgears and buildings some how managed to survive and well done 🤝🍻🍻🍻👍🇬🇧

Lovely video . nice to see rolling stock get a mention with Heritage railways the attention always seems to concentrate on the locomotives so it is nice to see the wagon and carriage people getting some recognition for a change.

Thank you so much for the staff and volunteers preserving this history. From 1886-1914 their chief engineer was George James Crosbie Dawson my 2nd cousin 4x removed. The North Staffordshire Railway Study Group published an article in Journal 51 written by Mike Fell detailing George’s life. I was able to assist him with files from my genealogy research. Though the NSR is no more, the history lives on in your efforts. Well done!

Hi, the upkeep of the unit is up to the owners. After over three years of housing the unit, the Foxfield Board carried out a commercial review of the progress made by the owners and it was decided to ask the owners of the Pacer to find a new home for their unit. We hope it will run again at its new home, wherever that may be in the future.

Dont worry i dont do this irl but is it decent practise to use the throttle as a steambrake , for instance to hold a speed of 25 down a 1% line with 15-16% on reversed reverser and full reg on that?
@hectorsendinoserrano83334 ай бұрын
It definitely wears down the cylinders and with time they would have tl be replaced, but it was a real practice that was used on railways and was included in manuals that railway used to train their drivers
