I can understand the reluctance about Texas' defense not being tested or not playing a "real offense". But my confidence comes from them showing elite traits against teams they should beat. How many Texas' defenses have we seen make bad offenses look good throughout the last decade? This year's defense is getting the job done in a fashion we haven't seen and that makes me confident that they will step up to the challenge.

Don't forget to give flowers to the guys who didn't get the ball, but made the play. Boldin running full speed behind the play, and recovering the fumble in the endzone. Wingo sprinting down the field to get the block on the safety for Wisner. I love how Brooks Austin put it on his film breakdown "on championship teams, players don't ever assume someone else is going to make the play. They play every down like they're the one who is going to make the difference."

Oklahoma’s defense stopped Texas on every possession. They just used the end zone on a few of those possessions.

I just looked at both rosters. Oklahoma has close to 35 players from Texas. Meanwhile the Texas longhorns have a little over 80 players from Texas.

As it stands right now, the last time Texas played Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, USC, Notre Dame and Oklahoma, they won. Has any other team ever been able to say that? That's last game bragging rights over all the bluebloods.

Any win against ou is a great win. Most stats look good for Texas, but UGA isn’t ou. ou scored only 3 points, but still had better time of possession and more plays. ou had 13 drives and 8.77 plays per drive, both better than Texas. Out of 69 scrimmage plays, ou had 20 successful plays on early downs. ou truly sucks, so Texas still won handily, but this was not a pretty win for Texas. A decent offense with that ball control and early down success will translate to more scores. Bennett is the best QB Texas D will face all year. Dbs will get a true test. All this said, when the D was working, it looked great! The Hill-Simmons combo is brutal. The most important factor to improve is Quinn. He must be ready and on next weekend. Bolden’s hustle and desire to play well was awesome. I’m guessing Sark will play that recovery TD clip for the team several times! Wisner is stepping up running hard. He came close to breaking a couple. Wingo is lights out. I love how so many different players step up each week. The UGA game will be a CFP level game and Texas’ first real test. It ought to be a great game. Looking at the other SEC games, it is a tough conference! Let’s hope humility isn’t a week away for the Horns.

Missed the game due to unexpected situation of receiving a phone call from a dear friend of many years and we spoke for several hours so I missed the final 3 quarters (priorities placed in the right place definitely), but glad about the outcome. Will rewatch broadcast asap, but got to give Sark a ton of credit for building a DEEP squad with a resilient mindset-a winning culture that finally matches our talent level. But, all I cared about was becoming bowl eligible with 6 wins. Yeah really, because in the down years that was something to build on. Well, we're 6-0 and that is gravy. But, I also know two things can be true at the same time. We caught a woefully undermanned OU squad this year. Which is fortunate and lucky, and they showed up to play, but OU was just horrid in their execution and the lack of talent showed. Secondly, the real SEC season begins next week. So, we get to see what a healthy undefeated Texas squad can do in DEEP water as the hunted. Proud of the guys, but still holding my breath with these slow starts, spotty execution, turnovers and lucky bounces. Are we back? No. Win a national championship and that will be an undeniable FACT! But, pleased we have a hyper-competive squad that will battle with any team in the nation. Championship caliber, we'll see. But, I'm happy with the outcome so far. Hook 'em!!!

Another great show fellas! I have 3 post game thoughts. 1. Quinn was clearly shaky the first quarter. Instead of WR screens that get blown up immediately, why not toss the ball to Helm a couple times to settle Quinn down and get him in rhythm. He’s a bigger target and harder to overthrow. Helm seems to be his safety valve anyway. 2. I have to tip my hat to Helm. Dude just shows up each week and plays hard. Has been as reliable as ever and clearly earned 3s trust. And way to bail out Golden by high pointing that ball and coming down with it over 2 defenders. 3. Bolden finally had the game he’s been wanting to. He was THE GUY at Oregon State and came here and has been more of a role player. That’s gotta be frustrating but he’s held his composure and it payed off. The 60 yard return and the hustle play TD were so deserving. I’ve sat in that end zone and the energy from the crowd on the scoop had to feel amazing for that young man. It’s a long season and he’ll get more touches. Shout out to Wingo and Wisner as well. Nice to not have to rely on young talent anymore but when their number was called they answered the bell. Great game in all 3 phases. We got Georgia next week! Hook em 🤘

Defense and run game was amazing today, Quinn on the other hand was sloppy all game a ton of misses and he needs to have a huge week of practice and lock it in for Georgia next weekend because the Quinn today did not look like the same guy before the injury. Still a good win Hook ‘Em! 🤘🏻

Texas has SO MANY WEAPONS on both sides of the ball. I can see us looking very good against Georgia next week if Quinn comes out playing as he's capable. Ryan Wingo is so exciting to watch. Bolden is ELECTRIC! If Texas plays even close to it's potential, it's gonna be a tough day to be a Bulldog.

Bond will be missed if he can't go for the Georgia game, but it will also mean more opportunity for Ryan Wingo. The Georgia game could be his breakthrough performance with the national audience. Everyone has been fawning over Williams and Smith, and I think Wingo is every bit as good as both of them.

The one thing that this game showed is that Oklahoma and Texas have a completely different perspective on this rivalry.

Last year before the game OU was yelling "discipline, focus" and talking about "only fearing God". Sark was walking around pregame saying "have fun and enjoy the moment". This was a massive mistake and it took us a full quarter to snap out of that nonsense. Remember Quinn's first int? Go back and look at how lackadaisical both he and AD were. This was a direct result of that pre game messaging. We cannot repeat that same lackadaisical pregame attitude this year. Last year Venables looked at our LBs weaknesses, and then made a game plan around that. OU put our backers in run pass conflict with Gabriel all day and we failed. I'm not good enough to watch our LBs and see what their weaknesses are this yr, but bet whatever they are BV will have part of his plan attacking it. We lost sack battle 5-1 last yr, turnover battle 0-3, and we had twice as many penalties and yards. Oh and we got out rushed. AFTER ALL THAT it still came down to the last drive. If what should happen - happens on Saturday then I think it's something like 17/20-7/10 at half and then final score ends around 35/38-20/24
