Anything can happen in a rivalry game. Aside from Ole Miss, Arkansas has been competitive in every game. I expect this to be competitive but I know Texas isn’t overlooking this game and I expect the Texas’ defense to take on the challenge to prove their place nationally. I believe it’ll come down to the Horns offense vs. The Arkansas Defense. If Texas can continue elevate their play like they have the last two weeks it will neutralize the Arkansas run game and make it a shootout which I think benefits Texas. Arkansas wants a rock fight and I think the horns will be prepared for one and pull away late.

Texas legend Cotton Speyer once told the story that when they went into the 1969 Arkansas game in Fayetteville, the coaching staff told them to keep their helmets on at all times. when he asked why, the coaches responded that they’re gonna throw whiskey on you and it’s still in the bottle. I know times are different and that probably won’t happen, but that speaks volumes of the level of hatred this school’s fan base has for Texas.

I think the defensive inside run is a weakness that could hurt them. Florida isn't the only team that has gashed them up the middle. In fact, almost everyone they have played has had above average success running up the middle. I think part of it is simply PK trading that to avoid big plays in the pass and due to playing with a lead where they don't really mind giving up a bunch of 5-6 yard runs. So the real question will be answered when they have a close game in the second half and need to stop the run. We haven't seen that yet.

This defense is bend but don’t break…you can’t argue with the results. They have been lights out. 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾

@3rdandLonghorn true but they haven't played a single competent passing game all year. Bend don't break has no real risk if the offense can't even threaten with the pass. The defense is legit overall, especially the secondary but it's naive to dismiss how lucky they have been with QB matchups. The best passer they have faced throws interceptions every five seconds and they still lost that game partially because they got gashed several times with runs. They haven't seen a single team yet that can attack kn the ground and the air effectively. So its easy to say the running D struggles don't matter when most of their oppoents have bad QB play.
