I disagree with your takes regarding the art and VFX they're actually really well done, I hated the graphics of dawn of war 2. I like what they did with Gorgutz and the Eldar, you just have no taste. The campaign's ending sucked towards the end, I agree that Gorgutz doesn't work well with anyone it doesn't make sense that he just starts at the end. The game is still fun even playing against AI. You should try that instead of the campaign as you sure as hell need to build a proper base to win.

I played the game while it was alive and it wasn't awful though it did lack modes other than pvp and a token nid horde mode the main issue I remember outside of that was the fact it never got balanced. The Eldar faction was the absolute best in all areas and would always stomp the other team. It got so bad that people stopped picking games against them near the end. That's not to say the other factions were balanced either as hardly anything was balanced in the game with metas and cheese builds being the norm. It just seemed like the devs were not sure what they were doing to me.

if they could expand it out into a galactic campaign sandbox, with xcom elements, this could be a really compelling game. The mission are very fun but I found it a bit boring after half the campaign, just wasn't much else there. I'm hoping they keep with this ip and do a sequel that expands it. I personally think though its the most 'Warhammer' feeling gameplay I've experienced.

I much prefer Unification to Ultimate Apocalypse, feels much more vanilla and balanced while the latter feels too over the top and unbalanced. Plus the tyranids in Unification are way better than in UA

Hey, Gregorian Catholic here. You talk about how the Baleful Edict's portion of the ost sounds like chanting. This is because in the background the background choir is chanting a real chant. They are chanting the first part of Agnus Dei IX starting at 0:26. Starting at 0:26, the portions chanted are "Agnus Dei,qui tollis peccata mundi". This means in English, "Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world". This is also the segment used in the video. At 1:08 of the piece, "qui tollis" is heard again. Ignoring the fact that the writers of the song just "wanted to pick something at sounded cool and GrimDark (TM)" and the Agnus Dei is one of the most easily chanted ordinaries (sometimes even chanted in the Novus Ordo Mass), the portion of the chant may have been selected on purpose.

Brothers, I can confidently say that in the 24th year of the 3rd millennium, the sequel is out and by the grace of the Omnissiah, it does not disappoint. I would even say that it does all of the things you pointed out on your list (though executions grant shield rather than health, but achieves the same outcome more or less cause shield doesn't regen in this one). Praise the Emperor, the wait was worth it!

What's wrong with flips in terminator armor :D This is definitely NOT the reason why the game didn't succeed, in fact this is some mobility over obstacles, which is welcome in my book. Didn't even play it yet but thinking of maybe giving it a shot. What worries me though, is multiple reports of game braking bugs, this is what worries me much more, a maybe cartoony graphics to some extent.
