Here's my experience. Personally, I would suggest to try it, but I don't think it's something worth doing several runs for. 7.5/10. I've played the game on hard ironman permadeath + disciplined on my first run. The only experience I've had with games similar to this gameplay wise is from Baldur's Gate 3. I got kicked in the balls several times by the """""easy"""" mission when you encounter necron mech for the first time (don't remember the name, the one that counts as mech in dawn of war) until I figured which discipline I should go for and stumbled upon a +9 physical dmg canticle. I had to enable hints for the events, as those seemed like bull to me where you get negative result despite what I would assume was logical decision and positive for some questionable choice, while the punishment for failing was too severe I lost 1 techpriest to the Ekropis(?) boss fight as I was severely underprepared, and I once almost died and survived on 1 hp when I first encountered jump pack necrons, but other than that there were no close calls. Boss fights were disappointingly easy, while hard fights ended up taking more than an hour of my life per mission and were mind draining to keep in mind all the variables and not f up. Honestly, without Aux discipline this run wouldn't be possible. My casual oppening hand was to get 1 cognito, then get 1 from servitor, then wish for +9 cognito which translates into +7 because reasons, then bless for dmg, then reduce gun cost and then fire 7-9 eradication ray and add 1-2 from pistol. I had 2 aux priests and both went with the same strat, while I also had 1 secutor and 1 healer. Honestly, those 2 were not nearly as good and if I had to rerun on hardest difficulty I would probably just get all aux,

For anyone looking at this now, the text is VERY SMALL if you're playing on a bigger screen like a TV, at least for PC. it makes it borderline unplayable. there is no way to scale it and no mods

Finally starting to see why I got this game for $2. Nothing like the stupid plague Bloom spawning in 10 people. Every single turn until the game has so many people that you physically can't even take a turn because you're just watching the game. S he gives infinitely long-term.

Freeblade to me I’d say is pretty free to play you just need to have a godlike amount of patience but once you get past the wall of ads and get good gear you’ll be good.

this mod would've been great (for me) if the devs had some restraint, but apparently a warhammer 40k mod needs shitty e-girl models and 2b from NieR. It's a real shame because it's fun and well made otherwise. I wouldn't even mind if they let you turn this off, but that's too hard apparently. In fairness the mod makers are decently respectful if you bring this up to them, however I can't say the same for some community members. Had one dude lose his shit at me for bringing up how it is visually inconsistent. If you don't mind all of this, the mod's great, but if you do, then just go play apocalypse. Maybe one day they'll add options to turn this off so you can get a proper, consistent 40k feel but given the devs' stance on the topic, then i'd say that's never happening. I'd like to add in case one of the devs reads this, that I don't have ill will towards the devs or the mod itself and it's impressive the work you've done for this mod. Uni is more of a disappointment for me than something to dislike.

I disagree with your takes regarding the art and VFX they're actually really well done, I hated the graphics of dawn of war 2. I like what they did with Gorgutz and the Eldar, you just have no taste. The campaign's ending sucked towards the end, I agree that Gorgutz doesn't work well with anyone it doesn't make sense that he just starts at the end. The game is still fun even playing against AI. You should try that instead of the campaign as you sure as hell need to build a proper base to win.

I played the game while it was alive and it wasn't awful though it did lack modes other than pvp and a token nid horde mode the main issue I remember outside of that was the fact it never got balanced. The Eldar faction was the absolute best in all areas and would always stomp the other team. It got so bad that people stopped picking games against them near the end. That's not to say the other factions were balanced either as hardly anything was balanced in the game with metas and cheese builds being the norm. It just seemed like the devs were not sure what they were doing to me.

Ooooh Together to the Stars music clip at 3:20 excellent choice, I'm currently working through Dawn of War 1 and all it's official expansions looking forward to trying the mods as the capstone to my conquest, I've always tended to avoid mods with games but Dawn of War has been a game of many firsts and breaking a lot of my bad habits so I see no reason my mod aversion shouldn't be the next to fall.
