I would've really loved if the triforce was the key item you mentioned since it has been known to grant wishes, you might have to destroy Ganon to unlock some of the parts. It could fragment like in previous games, thus allowing a really rewarding post-game.

All you have to do is observe how the battle goes in Age of Calamity compared to, say, Zora's Domain.

11:36 the Rito evolved from the Zora, so they probably at least know *how* to swim to some extent, even if only as a leftover instinct from however long ago it was when they last needed it

Maybe Rito feathers are just really good insulators and Ritos are just naturally highly communal?
@Drakenwild
@Drakenwild 8 күн бұрын
Yes, their feathers are very good at keeping them warm, which is why open air housing is viable! The Rito armor for Hylians is specifically made with Rito feathers as insulation. As for them being communal, they very well could be! I don't recall there being much evidence one way or the other.

Love the theory about lynels being cursed zonai
@TehKyura360

I wouldn't mind the current ending if there were *consequences.* Like what if it was Zelda's turn to have amnesia after a long nap? What if she came back wrong and was some dragon hybrid? (Lizard people anyonee??) This fix would also work great if those same consequences were in place. Even with all the build up of hope that Link can get Zelda back, make draconification have SERIOUS consequences, even if it is just turning Zelda into an anthropomorphic dragon. Nintendo missed out big time there on sales too.

Hmm something is bothering me about this theory. I like the argument, and the analysis of history and myth is compelling, but... Surely if you say "there are powerful magical beings in the world who people worship, but not gods or godesses," you're kind of defining deities out of existence? What is a god if not a powerful spirit or supernatural being that insipres people to reverence, ritual, and mythmaking? I don't have a cogent countertheory or anything it's just a thought I had towards the end of the video...
@Drakenwild

Great question. I'd define a god as having a level of omnipotence, at least within their domain, in addition to the worship of people and all the other things. So while these spirits seem to be powerful, I'm not convinced they posses that kind of power.

My thought on trans gerudo: While I love the idea, I honestly don't think they lorewise can exist. (normally) Why? Because of the thing (is it a curse? I dont know) that a gerudo male can only be born every 100 years. So I also would say this goes beyond pure flesh. We still don't know what exactly makes a person be transgender, but in the end it doesn't matter anyway. A "male gerudo" does in my eyes not only mean a gerudo with a penis. So either no trans gerudo can exist, or trans gerudo can only be born every 100 years. Because if you are a man born in a womans body, you still are a male which can't be except every 100 years. Queerness per se is totally fine, there can be asexual gerudo, pansexual gerudo or lesbian gerudo, but trans-gerudo don't make sense regarding this 100-years shananigans. And especially because we know that ganon is still "alive"-ish as a mummy down there. there is still a male gerudo "alive" [And please don't think I am transphobic because I say they can not exist. I am all for inclusion and I was super phyched when I read that Perfuma is confirmed to be transgender in She-Ra, or that they made Double-Trouble non binary. I am also pan-sexual, so I am queer myself]

It all works great, until it doesnt :D That's officially my favorite sentences now! This video (which is great by the way, you definetily earned my subscription) left me with two main feelings: 1. I feel incredibly sorry for the Rito now, escpecially when it comes to privacy. I can not imagine living a life with basically zero privacy. I mean you know for intamicy things and such xD There are hatchlings in the village, so they are sure having some cloaca action going on, but I am sure everyone knows who did who (but hey, at least there is no need for a paternity test then xD) 2. When playing Animal Crossing, it now feels incredibly weird and wrong seeing the bird villager holding a hammer and doing crafting (Put down that hammer, Twiggy! I do not want to call an ambulance!!!) But with all justifications for the difficulty of their life style, they do have some flat grounds in front of Rito village! There is no excuse for not building a specialized "education house", like they did for the cooking! Lazy birds skipping on education :D

I like this theory tho tbh I always assumed the whole totk and SS similarities was a very literal case of "history repeats itself". Might be that im taking my own headcanon too seriously but I've always felt like "history repeating itself" is like the very base of Hyrule's world. With all that said, very cool theory! I think it's a shame that totk is just one big reboot for tloz, it's made everything so so so complicated. But well what can we do other than find a way too make it fit?

To be honest, with lore as vague as Zelda's and with games being as thinnly connected as they are, most things are just different headcannons of different people.

Nice job ... This is quite in line with my day-1 interpretation since TotK aired : "All games but BotW-TotK are legendary tales, and BotW-TotK is either another version of the tale or the correct depiction of the real events". Technically, you could go even deeper with this logic, by trying to identify which part of BotW-TotK timeline correspond to each previous games : 1\ OoT, ALttP-Sealing-War would clearly corresponds to TotK-Sealing-War 2\ WW could be BotW/TotK equivalent with the great flood being a methaphorical expression of either the banishement of Sheikah tech, or the Great-Calamity (two event that can be seen that the destruction of a kingdom). WW-itself features a final fight that consists of Link going to a sealed kingdom under the sea and fight Ganondorf with the help of Zelda (very reminescent of TotK finale). 3\ TP-Twili could in fact be equivalent of Yiga in TotK, dwelling in a "Drak World" and helping to bring back Ganondorf (defeated by Link assisted by Zelda) 4\ TLoZ would correspond to BotW, and AoL that is all about waking up a sleeping Zelda and preventing Ganon return would in fact corresponds to Link trying to reverse Zeldragon to her human form (with the story of TLoZ and AoL messing up things by thinking that they are two different Zeldas). 5\ ALttP and ALBW would correspond to the 10kyr Calamity and BotW/TotK respectively ... with Yuga being reminescent of Kogha, a Yiga. I don't details all the possible connections, but in fact there is quite many. If applied to some IRL-legend in a comparative mythology framework, this would definitely be conclusive. Thanks to the archetypal story of all Zelda games it gives strength to this interpretation. Most interesting in this interpretation is the FS-trilogy that takes place "before" Ganondorf. Indeed, Ganondorf origin story is in FSA, that would be again a legendified TotK-Sealing-War. But then, Vaati predates Ganondorf, and would be tied to the Zonai-era. In this trilogy, the Minish would be reminescent of the Zonai, with Ezlo a Minish helping Link to defeat Vaati another Minish. One could interpret this event as the conflict that led to the Zonai "extinction" in Hyrule. Could even Vaati being realted to the bargainer statues ? The four eyes are worth to mention. In my own interpretation, Zelda is not "Hylia" (or at least not all aspects of Hylia that are presented in SS), I would rather consider that Hylia is the unseen daughter of Rauru and Sonia. Hylia would have taken over the crown after the Sealing-War and elaborated the MS based on observations from Mineru. In such setting, Hylia would be the 10kyr tapestry-princess who fought against a "Demon King" escaping from underground with the help of the races of the surface. Of course it would mean that the time between the Sealing War and the 10kyr Calamity is rather short, just enough for the Sheikah to elaborate the Guardians and Divine beast as an upgrade of Mineru's constructs. regarding the goddess statues, I rather see them as some technological devices created by Hylia (seen as Rauru/Sonia daughter). Anyway, this interpretation of the lore (considering previous games as distorded legends retelling again and again the same story) is an amazing ground for theories and creativity ... almost a bottom less well for youtube videos.

Imo, its fine. Something ive noticed is that, totk and botw are the same era of hero and the same legend, just told by two equally unreliable narrators. Once you break the games into pin points, they are the same. Link wakes up in an area full with remnants of a magical tech based extinct race. Links main utility wheel is gifted by said race. THEN, HE LEAVES SAID AREA TO MEET WITH PURAH AND IMPA GETTING SENT ON A QUEST TO HELP THE 4 CHAMPIONS OF EACH RACE, in the end fighting ganon with zeldas help. Now, that sounds like a normal zelda game. But, you can explain botw and totk the EXACT same way with no difference except for saying zonai or sheikah. My theory is that they are both the same story, just told by a sheikah/zonai as some bedtime story. I like this theory since it explains the lack of divine beasts.

How to turn Zelda back: If you collect all the memories, Link will stand on the dragon's snout and look mournful at her. Zelda will respond and rewind her own time, turning her human again. This is possible because as a dragon, her rewind power is extraordinarily powerful. Edit: I wrote this before finishing the video. I like yours better because it requires more than a fetch quest.
