All jokes aside, real solid banger of a video, also here's some more Zodick lore: In the games narrative, Zodick is just an animatronic. The entire segment of the game you face him in is actually a parody as a whole, that being Toy Story. Zodick is Satan He is the penultimate boss of the game, regardless of if your going for the normal ending or the new game + ending. Illbleed was made by the same team who made Sonic Adventure, with Zodick being symbolic of the hellish frustration the team had developing SA. Sega HATED Zodick, but they couldn't get the team to change it as they didn't have the time. Zodick has (allegedly) made cameos in both the Archie & IDW comics at some point, this would technically make him an official Sonic character if true!

Can I be the first to say: Sonic Mania's special stages are terrible. Sonic controls terribly in them and doesn't allow you to use the analog stick for true 3D control which is really...dumb. It also doesn't use any of the mechanics that the normal game uses, but is normal for Sonic games I guess? Still, I prefer Sonic 1 and 2's. The only saving grace is, like 3K, you can continue to get emeralds after beating the game if you didn't get them the first time around.

If I'm gonna be honest, I actually don't care much about what arc Amy's character will take nowadays, because I feel like she works fine in almost every Sonic media, as an obsessive but passionate and lovable girl as the less tempered-kickass female persona, as seen in IDW Comics, TMOSTH and even Superstars and some parts of Boom cartoon series. I do agree Frontiers had a problem to not really give some of her old traits and personalities though, since most of Amy's dialogues in that game are pretty vague or incredibly boring and out of character. Even X's Amy, from how insufferable she is, in my opinion, has more expressiveness and emotion than her Frontiers counterpart 😅. Tails and Knuckles are okay in it though. With all that being said, I'll hope when, someday, old Sonic characters will have their true redemption arcs. Frontiers was a step, although it still has a long way to go for it.

while i agree amy wasn't very good in frontiers or any of the mainline sonic games from the 2010s onward, i never really cared much about her crush on sonic being her defining personality trait. i think amy's best moments were the parts of the adventure games where her caring side shined through, specifically her moments with gamma, the way she risked her life for the bird in SA1, and her talk with shadow at the end of SA2. i guess i appreciate that they Tried to channel that in frontiers but it did kinda fall flat

Amy has always been my favorite character and I was so disappointed and confused by Her monologue in frontiers. sega was too afraid and wanted to play it safe with Amy and it shows. I liked her being the first to help the coco and getting to see her use her tarot cards but compared to knuckles and tails she did not have a lot to say.

the UK isn't the only version of Colours to have the extra wisp for the u in colours because the Australian version does as well

Funny how the things people criticized Sonic Mania for are all examples of Sega getting in Christian Whitehead's way and not just letting him make a Sonic game with all original levels.

If I’m being honest, I want SEGA to take this game off of them, sue them as punishment and recreate it with a better story, voice acting and not so many bugs and hard gameplay. After Frontiers, they’re so far on the right track to redeeming themselves since Sonic Forces.

Never really cared for the obsessive fangirl part of Amy's character and I'm happy its gone, but they shouldn't have stripped the rest of her personality with it. She wasn't just obsessed with Sonic, she had attitude and determination. Once she had her mind set on a goal, nothing could turn her away, and she would take on any challenge head-on regardless of her lack of abilities compared to the others. She could be both a girly girl and a fiery, headstrong fighter. She could have tea parties with Cream and also beat the everliving hell out of someone who dared hurt her friends. Characters are most interesting when they have multiple sides to their personalities. With Amy, they've completely removed the abrasive side of her character, and left her with nothing more than the simplistic soft side.

4Kids voice cast for sonic and friends was just the greatest. The majority of the voice now is terrible Sonic, Tails & Eggman are great but the rest suck, especially Shadow

Amy should never have been thrust into the role of "main girl". Blaze has been right there for ages and works way better for that in basically every way, all Amy has over her is seniority. With the way people still go nuts over Shadow I'm sure if the pushed Blaze's solemn, aloof nature a bit more and gave her the spotlight people would go wild for her

I don't mind Amy's character role and personality in every game or series to this day. I just like her because she's tough, affectionate, bubbly and take care of those she loves. Not just as being Sonic's "girlfriend" but as a valuable member to the team.

Amy is written like sonic but a girl nowadays its so generic and bland Amy should be more energetic and can have a short temper at times, maybe they can add more to her character like making HER too trusting and more sympathetic instead of Sonic. Amy needs her own game, they could even make it a smaller budget mobile title, Amy's character needs fixing. (Same goes for Sonic)

The 2003 era was pretty bad about exaggerating the personalities of the characters. I think the only character who got hit with it worse was Knuckles. He became almost defined by being tricked by Eggman, and being stupid and angry all the time. He was more the stoic loner type in Adventure 1 and 2, but I guess Shadow claimed that role. Amy meanwhile became downright aggressive about her love for Sonic, especially in the Sonic X anime. The scene where she nearly strangles Chris in order to get Sonic to show himself always stood out to me.

Honestly, I always did like Old amy, I'm a person who nowadays just kinda accepts thing because i tend to not really have a voice, or a compound proof and fact on my views. But genuinely me as a kid and me of today never really hated old amy. I found her fun as a character and Liked seeing the banter between the 2. But in frontiers the most exciting it is, is when i'm playing *as* her. Idw for the most part has to course correct these choices, which tbh Would of helped the video's point as amy there is a character i can like due to how while her love was subdued it still was there.

To me its a double edge sword with Amy. One hand while yes her original character had depth that doesn't change the fact most people found annoying or new amy that tries to have depth but is also boring. They need to find a middle ground with it, like why not lead into her more spiritual side they doing with the tarot cards since you mention it so much. it's not a good sign when most of the other women characters are beloved except amy
