What’s your go to winter trail shoe? I had the NB More Trail v3 but the upper gets soaked. I’m running light trails in ice, snow, slush here in Canada.
@timetorunchannel15 күн бұрын
Last winter these were pretty much my favorite winter running shoes for the cushioning. But, I had to wear Showers Pass Water proof socks. These just let in too much snow and slush like the NB one you described. But recently I’ve been running in the Hoka Speedgoat 5 GTX Spike and they’re quickly becoming my next favorite winter running shoes. Especially for the Gortex aspect and the peace of mind I get with the Spikes on the bottom during icy conditions. The only thing I haven’t done extensive testing with is the fact that since they’re a regular shoe, heavy rain, deep mud and slush could hypothetically get inside the collar. So I imagine I might still wear water proof socks on occasion. No shoe is perfect. I’ll be putting out a review hopefully in the next few weeks on that shoe specifically. Hope that all helps

@@Biscuito54the stack I would think is much too tall. I used cages on my road bike but it’s kinda weird after using vans or cycling shoes for years. If you’re using platforms I don’t think there’s enough grippy surface area and it could end up shredding the exposed midsole.

It's fast running shoes?
@timetorunchannel2 ай бұрын
You can go as fast as you want but I don't think they're meant as a speed day shoe, in my opinion. I'd do with the Hyperion Max if you're looking for a Brooks shoe to fit in that category.

@timetorunchannel2 ай бұрын
@@melanierichie6281 The caldera 7s are a solid pick for all terrain. Really grippy lugs. From what I recall good arch support (I had zero issues with my arches in these). Light weight and cushion paired with stable support for days. Only thing is some people might be put off by the overall bulkiness of the shoe but it’s still one of my all time favorites personally, even more than the Cascadia. Hope that helps!

I presented my experience using the watch verbally while filling in the space with videos of the watch so that it’s not just one 20 minute shot of my face😄. Believe it or not people watch to see clips of what is being reviewed. This strategy seems to be working quite well for everyone based upon the views and likes. Whether this convinces them to purchase the product or not is their choice, not mine.

Not a case of good or bad some shoes just are not for everyone. To be fair I don't often like shoes branded trail as I often just find them heavy, stiff, and clunky. For me that was the case with the Caldera 7. My one serious trail run with them was very wet and they just seemed to weigh me down with an initially heavy weight to start with. Most of the time and for most trails I find a good road pair with some grip like Puma work fine. My analogy would be how many people ride full suspension bikes on trails where a hardtail would do fine. But maybe my trails are as gnarly as some. I see them as being more of a light trail hiker then a running shoe but none the less they hurt my feet, I prefer a more flexible option.
@doncarlospipely88524 ай бұрын
Agree 100%, I always wear road shoes on the trails where I live. I have 3 pairs of Pumas and the PumaGrip is phenomenal, never slipped or felt unstable. If I’m putting my Speedgoat’s on, I’m running on a muddy, gnarly trail.
