Stephen will always be one of the greatest inspirations to anyone creative or otherwise inspired by art and animation. I'm so happy to be able to listen to this and learn more about his life. Thank you for uploading this!

It's always cool to see more or hear more on Stephen Hillenburg's work. He may be gone but he will always be Remembered by so, so, So many people and it's also cool to hear that at the time Paul was running the show, Stephen was still working on the show in some form with him and everybody else. I have heard he was still working on the show still, Just not as a show runner. But aside from that. It's nice to hear that he indeed was still on the show at the time this interview was made. This hole rumor of him leaving the show is finally put to rest. wonder how a lot of the SpunchBoomers are feeling now after knowing this information, Thanks to this interview being found now, Ehy?!

I like that you have to read the little sketch notes for half the jokes to even so much as register because of how much of a hodgepodge the final is.

Yeah, John K. was never a very strong cartoonist in terms of actually making the action on screen legible.

Guess when the 90s were coming to an end, Hanna Barbera thought the world would end in 2000, and only green lit these shit fests thinking they’d never get done, and no one would have the electricity to watch them. Then, the 2000s came, and projects couldn’t be easily canceled back then, and we got the biggest middle fingers of some of HB’s best shows, Yogi Bear, Jetsons, even The Flintstones with On the Rocks, even though Spumco had nothing to do with that one.

As a young still going artist that believes he's not going to make it, I can't seriously tell you how flapjack is a huge inspiration for my art, humor, writing i love for this show! Pretty sad that CN let this show fall and push it aside very disappointed about that but at least we have it, and the fact that JG quintel, alex hirsh and the creator of adventure time was behind thia is is truly impressive since how big there fan base is

What I’ve noticed is the best animated episodes of the show are the ones animated digitally. Manley from season 2, though. Most of the hand drawn ones were good, but were done overseas at Carbunkle cartoons.

The fact that this was John's back up plan after Adult Party Cartoon and even then Adult Party Cartoon was still gonna heavily feature George Liquor in a lot of Ep's shows that John couldnt walk away from his 1 idea.

At 5:20 - was that the theme song to the film Brazil by Terry Gilliam? That's a film about a dystopia created by a centralized, incompetent, government.

He never left the show at all! So SpongeBob didn’t dipped in quality after the first movie!
@Caleebbb
@Caleebbb Ай бұрын
Well just because Steve didn’t actually leave the show, it doesn’t mean that the quality of the show didn’t change. Like obviously when shows manage to stay on the air, they tend to kinda jump the shark at a certain point. With SpongeBob, Steve stepped down as showrunner after the first movie, and many people that were working on the show left to do other things during the movie’s production due to the hiatus on episode production. Which is why those middle seasons after the first movie were so disliked by many people.

John and Eddie were crazy in their own way and that's the best for them. Most greater cartoon creators like John R Dilworth are crazy because normal people couldn't create such brilliant works and cartoons like John and Eddie or Dilworth . Nowadays people cry about everything but many forget crazy genius dark humor doesn't exist without crazy people.
