Alot of these are weak as fuck... if you didn't know Uninstall. Also think MOST people start the golden claw quest in the shop. Lmao.
@BlackJar724 сағат бұрын
I always thought of getting the quest for the claw from Lucan to be the normal and intended progression -- you get to Riverwood before Whiterun (taking the most obvious/typical paths in the early game), where you are like to want to see some stuff -- and it just makes more sense to get the quest from the claws rightful owner than somehow just knowing where the claw should be returned to (or that it needs to be returned to anyone) the moment you get it. Its just the most obvious sequence of events.

The sapling option in the gildergreen quest is bugged though. The dead tree doesn't get removed and the sapling is hidden inside it. The gildergreen will never blossom. There are mods to fix it like the unofficial patch but if you are playing vanilla it really is best to take the sap option That was the tree does come back alive and blossom.

How do we know we aren't just advanced NPC's? Because we are capable of self recognition. The point of the tower from the perspective of the observer is to recognise the 'I', as in 'I Am.' It is to recognise yourself as an 'I'. An I observing itself. You simultaneously recognise the wheel as a system of that exact process. You are unequivocally part of the wheel, and yet as an 'I' you remain a separate entity of it, which you can only fully grasp by observing it all and recognising 'I' to be it's sum. I is all. I is God. I is existence. I exists. ...I am existing. I exist. Basically perceiving the divinity within your very consciousness. ...It's very hard to explain Chim because the only way to understand it is to already have understood it 😅 Decartes "I think, therefore I am" is genuinely treat as a "no shit sherlock" when it's really a "...Holy fucking shitballs..." when understood correctly.

Man, I think you're steering way too heavily into "its literally the disc and therefore the game" my man. It's partly that, but it's also related to our experience as mortals. The genius is that its both at once. Your quote at 35:20 sums it up perfectly. Thats US. It's anything that can look at itself and know for definite it isn't either the first or the last. It's anything that can understand its consciousness is borrowed from the very thing that is also the world around it, as well as itself. And then to go and cover the line "the only name of god: I" 36:28 whilst discussing said quote shows how little you've understood, as that is the most important part of the whole text by far. The spot of the wheel as a disc is solid, and this video is awesome. I learned a lot from it. But it's all AT BEST a cheeky nod towards that. In this work Kirkbride has spelled out his understanding of mortal enlightenment and how to reach it. I found it a different way, which happened to coincide with a Skyrim run I was playing 😅. It follows the teachings of almost all religions at there core, as well as being the logical conclusion to meta/quantum physics and philosophy. I'm not just an existing, experiencing being; I am.

2 biggest things we need. Co-op mode (that allows mods) and a user friendly modding tool. Then all the rest. Bonus: Ai powered companion that responds to your voice. At least that’s what I would like as a basic feature. Also no immersion breaking features like modern day terminology and things. Most other things can be modded in easely.

literally the only one of these I didn't know was the missing in action one. Also, I am really surprised your one for the thalmor embassy quest was just about what happens if you sneak around - most players i know do the stealth thing anyway and end up fighting gissur in the ratway, like didnt even think of brute forcing their way through it. everything about that quest screams 'this is a sneaking mission.' I am super surprised you didn't include the REAL secret way to do that quest, which is rather than outright sneaking, you can disguise yourself as one of the Thalmor if you're a human or elf by nicking some of the hooded thalmor robes you can find at the beginning of the area. As most races, you still have to keep your distance to avoid suspicion, but as an altmer you can walk around the embassy freely and the only one who isn't fooled by it is Rulindil.

Skyrim has about 2.5 major points of interest (including an average of one dungeon) per 512x512 yard or meter area, plus a handful of minor points of interest (such as ransacked carts) -- seems like a good rule of thumb for content to me.

Seeing the way people are getting tired of absurdly oversized worlds makes me wonder how things will work out for The Wayward Realms when it releases. I never got tired of Skyrim's combat, its perfect for the kind of game it is -- not everything needs to play like Dark Souls, though I like that game's combat too. For base building, they could learn from early D&D and The Sims -- plan it out in Sims-style build-buy mode, then pay to have professionals build it. I hate it when games interrupt gameplay tons cut scenes, and despise quick time events -- I hope they don't go into a lot of that crap.
@TheBlackRose33 күн бұрын
Very keen question and one I've been thinking about as well. Ted Peterson and Julian LeFay are very old school thinkers, which does concern me. I guess the question is, will the content be good enough to carry it? From what they have shown it does look like they've come up with some neat ideas. But will the content be interesting and entertaining enough to keep young gamers with low attention spans playing despite having to deal with old school concepts? For Starfield the answer is no, so I'm not very hopeful that the Wayward Realms or similar games will fare better 🤷♂. I'm also pondering similar questions about Jeff Gardiner's upcoming game Wyrdsong. He said the RPG mechanics will be pretty elaborate in a recent interview, but I don't recall him talking about scale. He's a terrific developer and he's recruited other great talent too, so I think they'll do well. But key decisions about things like scale and mechanics could be the difference between thousands of sales. For 76 those survival mechanics were the difference between me playing and not playing. I guess we'll see but I have faith in Jeff Gardiner 👍.

Things that I think ES6 needs is - Make races feel actually fully different in survival mode, orcs need to eat more, wood elfs get sick from eating veggies. - Make questlines longer, more deep, but block off other quests doing so. You can only join the dark brotherhood, and cant join the thieves guild. Keep new game + so you can run through the other ones. Have all factions interlock midway through, and if you proceed past that part, then you are locked out of the other factions. - Have an enemy like dragons, but make them not annoying, basically make an enemy like skyrim dragons but make them only appear at certain areas, make them more of a dragon dogma boss fight for those massive enemies. - bring back weapon decay, but instead of making it a chore, make it where the health of a weapon lasts quite a while but needs to be maintained as you should have to take your sword to a grindwheel, and grind it kind of like Kingdom Come. - Have player homes be purchased with land tax and mortgage that needs paid every month. - Dynamic weather by months. - All armor starts as Medium Armor, but changeable add ons until it hit a certain weights turns it into light/heavy armor. Say 0-8lb is light 9-16 is medium 17 and up is heavy. Daedric will start at 16lb, so add ons will take it to heavy, but you could keep it no add ons for it to be a medium armor. - Right-handed shield wielding. - Make all skills separate and add more skills. One handed is turned into Blade has minor skills Slice and Pierce. Blunt has minor skills, Bruise and impact. Nutritional is a major skill with minor skills of Cooking Baking Mixology Alchemy Armor is a major skill with minor skills Light Medium Heavy Unarmored Archery is a major skill with minor skills Recurve - Nordic, Daedric Compound - Ebony, Glass Longbow - Wood, elven Crossbow - Dwarven, orcish

Wow, only one I didn't know was the first one, but then I've never taken the sap, I just let Maurise pray at the tree. The way I do the No One Escapes Cidna Mine is kill Madanach once he's given me the armour of the old gods and all the others have left, I then quicky take just the key from him and run through the hostile Forsworn and exit the ruins back into Markarth, the hostile Forsworn follow me and a fight breaks out. Killing them all and once they are dead go back in and take the note and any other bits I want, read the note so the quest updates, leave again and Thonar is waiting outside for me and tells me about clearing the charges and gives me his ring. Been doing it that way for so many years. 😊

Add Mirrors edge movement and navigation for walking, running, climbing... Mixed with fight night champion unarmed combat with Def jam fight for NY's grapple combat mixed with mirrors edge timed disarms for that fast paced street fighter fireball slinging martial arts combat. Steal the Dialogue system from deus ex human revolution every time u play the right dialogue choice changes. Its never the same but picking up on how the character feels about a situation and speaking to them accordingly fells better than just selecting dialogue choices. Add dead island Sam B's tackle thru regular doors ability. Mixed with batman arkham knights surprise B!+(# room clearing tactics. Leave windshear as it is do not fix it in fact all weapons should work like windshear it makes vanilla combat better for the player... Not so much for the npc... If u dont block enemies can stagger/knockdown/bash knockdown your character. Dwarven mail & Elite Redguard + All paid DLC/mods should be transferrable to elder scrolls 6 Add a 1st person see your body camera like mirrors edge/dying light Add more animations like for eating food, drinks, turning doorknobs, opening/closing doors. More interactable idle animations. Make armor even more modular i like to wear pieces from multiple sets makes it seem as if im just forming it myself like armorsmith in fallout 4. We hate the one piece fits all suits... Stop it. Anyone can be a follower Can have up to 10 followers Add chat gpt to npcs Add a dwarven fly drone destiny like ghost/Sparrow... ghost works like a pipboy but it's a ghost. Add nordic carrieges they work like the open scene of Skyrim but take u all over the world Add ENB/Graphics selector between realistic/Cell shaded Expand on the dwarves extinction All of tamriel should be open to the player not just hammerfell Allow me to play as a kid everytime I die I get older the older I get the weaker my physical attacks become but the stronger my magic gets Or just Add the sims aging process. If I die as an adult I become one of my kids. Let me build my own kingdom... And move settlers in Fallout 4 style and charge rent fable style Allow enemy raids and steal the lord of the rings nemesis system if u die the enemy that killed u takes your gear and uses it against u Add a mod load organizer to unpaid/paid mods no one wants to organize their load orders do it for us like the paid creations. Add fallout 4 hit points and body part injuries. The survival system I gotta eat or I gotta sleep or I gotta take a shower or I gotta use the bathroom basically the sims needs but it should also affect npc/enemies not just the players character like it does in Skyrim. Add the sims/fable like jobs Add metal gear/splinter cell stealth mechanics. Get rid of map markers and satellite maps in favor of metro exodus map it's more immersive. Add left for dead/dying light - 4 players stick together or die like co-op multiplayer not eso like multiplayer. U know like the famous elder scrolls hypothetical treachery book.

I think I disagreed on almost every point you made. Unfortunately for me I do think what you want is what TES6 will have, if anything it's solidified that I'm so far away from the current target audience that it's like we're talking about completely different games. One of the things I kept noticing was this strange "either-or" way of looking at certain things, like lockpicking having to be either the Skyrim system or the Oblivion system (or both) instead of option 3 being improving the current system. Similarly with spell-making, if the old system was clunky/ complicated or OP then why isn't reworking it an option instead of removing it altogether. It was particularly interesting with regards to map size; why are the only two options a small, cluttered map or a large empty map? You also make comparisons to other games (mainly Starfield) as examples of bad features, or things that shouldn't be done, seemingly without noticing that it might just be a bad example of said feature. The fact that Starfield, Fallout, or Oblivion implemented a system or feature poorly does not mean that the feature/idea was in it self bad, just the execution of it was. If I made videos I'd almost be tempted to make a counter to your video, so even if I disagree I have to say good job for making an interesting video.

I would have to disaree on the combat, Co-op and survival machenics. Bethesda games are traditionally made in both first and third person. This is something that should never be changed. The ability to freely switch between first and third person is where a lot of this certain immersive experience in bethesda games comes from. A combat system that is too flashy and action like will just break that experience. It would also be very difficult to implement these overly flashy animation to first person. I think an ideal combat(melee) system wuold be something like For honor, brutal and grounded. Adding Co-op to an open world game would just break the game design. It's not just about difficulty and numbers. A game designed for multiple players in mind would be fundimentally different to a game designed for a single player. Just play ESO, then play any single player TES game. They do not provide an identical experience, especially on game design. Survival machenic does not have to be uber difficult and tedious. It can be something minor. Like heat and sand storm in desert influence your character stats. It adds to the immersion, it could also loop into other gameplay machenics like being wet changes spell effect and resistence. It could also be a choice like survival mode in F4.

I think Bethesda should take notes from Kingdom Come: Deliverence’s “settlement building.” You have one, decently sized area that you build up your town and each of the buildings are upgrades that you buy after completing quests.
@Kurokishi-di8rv5 күн бұрын
When it comes to combat, I think it should be more focus on realism and physics. Locational damage, enemy resistances and immunities, quick but decisive combat where you can die easily but can at the same time swiftly defeat human enemies unless they have certain equipment or spells. For example if an enemy is wearing armor you will do little to no damage if you hit with your sword on a defended area and certain weapons suit certain fights better. Like crossbow has better penetration to certain armor types and spears are good because you can hit weak spots on the enemy. Shields should also block damage completely unless the enemy is like a giant and you get stunned. This would allow for a more tactical and fun game where strategizing is actually fun. Another thing is I think they should rework the save system. Like for example no saving in combat or certain areas and you need to rest, meditate or sleep to be able to level up or recover mana. There are a lot of things they could do, but big and flashy combat is never a solution.
