My goals are to have some of my plants take on moss poles. Bigger leaves, air layering, and growing out some of the monstera I currently have from tc. 😊 I have gotten past the phase of collecting and am now enjoying the growing. Happy days! 😅

I have the same goal but I don't know how I am going to get rid of anything apart from dividing plants and giving divisions away. That and not buy anything. My collection is mostly orchids which grow relatively slowly at least. ❤ Happy New Year Roos

Nice! Ever since my first pick of letting go of one, I've become more brutal about it - it feels nice to have space! Orchids are awesome!

Happy New Year, Roos, and I hope you feel better soon and you look beautiful! My plant goals are to be a better orchid mom and buy only 2 plants this year. I have purged my collection already and am only keeping the plants that bring me JOY❤.

Thank you!! Oohh do you know already which two or is that whatever comes your way? It's nice to have a strict limit, that helps to decide if they will REALLY bring you joy 🙌❤️

I recommend cement/concrete pots for your moss poles that are toppling over! They're much heavier. Your nursery pot just needs to fit snugly into the cover pot too :) and a stake to support your moss pole from bending also helps a lot!

Hope you will feel better soon! 2025 seems like it will be a year of plant curating/balancing for many 🪴🪴🪴 As for content… Im mostly enjoying Hoya content lately and things about downsizing (questions people ask themselves, the why of decisions etc), plant creativity (like your journal, or creative ways to display plants), maybe PH related things… but… you do you, the best content is what was the most fun to create (not forced). 😊 Mosspoles: if the plant has a set spot in the house, Id put a hook in the wall and velcro or rope to “tie” the pole to it. (All the way around the pole and plant otherwise the pole might rip/tear 😅) Crafting is so much fun! Still hoping to use the all yarn I have upstairs and the few embroidery kits someday…. When life allows it Also love your plant tracker journal! Might track Hoyas flowering like that someday 🌸 Goals: - Less plants 😂 - Larger Hoyas with more flowers (goes almost automatically) I have more burnout/overwhelm in summer since everything needs waaaaaay more water then, in late autumn/winter theres less to do which makes it usually the period when I buy more plants, staying mainly focussed on the downsizing this year though…. And then eventually sticking to a set number of plants with a one in = one out system Again, I hope you will feel better And that the rests you take will refresh you Will the effects of that concussion go away eventually? (It also sounds quite a bit like chronic fatigue syndrom)

I planted a cactus seed packet from "Ferry Morse" some time before summer and they're about 1.8 inches tall 1 golden barrel, 3 sugurao, and 5 ferrocactus? Fishhook barrel? Olive colored thumb shaped things with suctioncups with red hook spines?

I think those are beautiful goals I think doing anything creative helps immensely for one’s mental health. Managing your collection where you can take care of them optimally is the best you can do for yourself. It is going to be an amazing year. Thank you for what you do and wishing you a very Hapoy New Year❤❤

easiest way to balance a mosspole: you need a tight fitting and HEAVY pot. Use stones to fill up your ceramic pots which are too light :) personally I also kind bury my moss pole bases in sand (plastic pot and all) to secure them but then you cant take them out easily and cant just tip out water. Jan uses heavy ass pots, if im not mistaken
@plantwithroos2 күн бұрын
Thank you! My main issue I've realised is that my inner pots don't fit perfectly into the ceramic pots - or they do but they hang on the top edge and the bottom floats (does that make sense?) so then it's even more wobbly! That's why I have the bigger pot.. But I changed the pot now to one from the second hand shop AND I repotted the El choco slightly to angle the pole backwards. It's standing up without falling over!

Roos which orientation (south, west, east, north) is the window in which your Monstera aurea sits? But you can totally put the pvc pipe at the back of your moss pole. I’m just afraid that the weight of the plant would still cause the pole to shift.

@plantwithroos2 күн бұрын
Yes for me - these plants are mildly toxic to pets meaning if they eat a lot from them they might get a stomach ache or throw up. But my cats don't eat from my plants. In comparison, lily flowers are highly toxic and can cause kidney failure and death pretty fast.

Hi! Regarding moss poles balance i found that heavy ceramic pots only 1-2 cm bigger than the plastic nursery pots are helping to keep the moss poles upright. In addition I found the metal plant holders that have flat base and pole attached to it. You put your heavy pot onto the flat base and attach the moss pole to the pole of the holder. It keeps everything more stable. The ones that I found are from polish store but maybe you can find something similar in Netherlands :)

I love your content and only want to see you happy and fulfilled. I love your goals! My main goal this year is to grow the plants I love and take some I'm not loving off support or moss pole and grow them bushy - like my silver sword and amedrium medium silver. I think they could both be trailing plants. My amedrium is well-rooted so potting it in a hanging basket should work nicely. I also want to try to create anthurium hybrids. But just growing my anthurium is a delight! I want to move all anthurium to no drainage vases with fluval stratum as a reservoir and bark, perlite, tree fern fiber etc chunky mix above. Moss collars are great here in Tucson for keeping the humidity around my plants up - I use humidifiers too.

Hi Roos! Sorry that you're feeling poorly. I'm super excited about your terrarium videos! And I vote for 2 separate anthurium breeding videos! And I would definitely love to watch a video about crafts/needlepoint/crochet crochet. I'm a crocheter too. But mostly I think you should do what makes you happy 💚🌿 Happy New Year 🎊
