i'm returning biker, after 40 years. currently taking training with local RoSPA group in the north east. Really enjoyable. I've done 'biker down' 'cornering clinic' some blood bikes events and most recently 'bike safe' (with police riders, here in northumberland. I'd also put Y in any pre ride or predrive check... Y is for 'you'. Yes, it's essential to have all aspects of the bike sound and secure, but remember cause of crashes and collisions are 95% human. So i'd advocate Y / yourself for the rider to consider 'am i ok to ride' >> hangover from night before / any medications / ailments / side effects which might impair my riding? Any illness, stress, injury etc? If any of these materialise during a ride,,, most common being fatigue i suspect, then take a break have a drink, move about a bit, then when 'all boxes can be ticked' then back on the road!

Great video. Ordered these a few weeks ago and they only took about 7 days to get to me in NZ. No importing problems with duty as far as I can see on the delivery documents. Quality of the bars is excellent, and full install instructions are contained in the package containing the fixings. Followed the instructions in this video and encountered a few different "issues' during the install. 1. Trying to release the nut from the engine support rod was a pain on mine. It was locked tight. Had to improvise using a jack and some woodworking clamps which held up the allen key so I could get some grunt into releasing the nut at the other end with a socket wrench. 2. Trying to put the washers and nut on the new "spindle" (engine support bar) was a bit of a mission as the "new" nut sank into the (short) socket I was using. I ended up having to pack out the socket with washes to get the nut to bite onto the spindle thread. 3. After watching the struggles he had with the l/h radiator nut, I simply took both sides (fairings) off completely before the install - this worked very well however, trying to get the bolt past a couple of hoses in front of the bolt was still a little tricky. 4. Make sure you set the bars out on the floor so you get the right bar on the right side before trying to fit the first bar (ask me how I know . . . ). Time to install - around 2.5 hours - would have been quicker but I took the opportunity to clean the radiator and inside of the fairings before re-fitting them onto the bike. Thanks so much.

Does any one know the size of the jubilee clip? and where to get some decent ones?
@jedblavla5206Ай бұрын
So hang on a minuet, just to change the clip ons you need to hang the bike from the yolk, undo everything on the shocks, and take off the fucking callipers? Are you serious?!? What a pain in the arse. Why the hell cant they just design it so you can just undo the clip ons on two separate points and just take it off the forks? Would make so much more sense -.-

Great review! I put some helicopter tape around the fork, where I was going to place the sensor, and then placed the e fork sensor on - no marks from the fork sensor. I bought mine a few years ago and would not ride without it.

I’ve had my Turtle 2 vest for nearly a year and I just installed this sensor on my bike, which has just become available to customers in the U.S.. I also needed to adjust the position of the sensor. Too low, mudguard was an issue. Too high. Fork reflectors were in the way. So I needed to go slightly higher on the fork. Your video was a great for helping me with my install but I really wish the mounting hardware had been designed better. I worry that the plastic bracelet will break or shift over time. I needed to tighten things more than I wanted in order to try to minimize any movement. Ride safe!

Wasn't sure between the turtle 2 with the tether or the electronic version, this video helped me decide towards the latter! Sorry about your forks, but that won't be in vain if it can save my Scrambler 1100 Ohlins forks from some nasty scratches :D

No, you can only clean with a damp cloth. You can’t put this in a washing machine.

I have been using a leaf blower as a dryer and ACS50, but that is a LOT of product on the bike. I had no idea you could use it on bodywork and the windscreen. I have been just using it on the metal bits. I only used it on the engine case, suspension, and chain. Thanks for the video!

Hey mate great video. Although there is a big mistake in the way you've explained how these vests work. Let me quickly explain. The Electric vest has a sensor that will trigger the airbag based on a multitude of parameters that are being evaluated by an algorithm. One of this trigger is a MINIMUM SPEED THRESHOLD. Which means, if you are standing still at a red light and you get tailgated, the Electric vest will NOT INFLATE as it requires a minimum speed of 20km/h. That's the reason I chose to go for the mechanical one which suits best when using the vest for commuting. Cheers
@bogdanzarnescu65793 ай бұрын
Nope. 18 km/h without the fork sensor. 0 km/h with the fork sensor. The reason you buy the sensor. If someone hits you between 0 and 18 km/h.

Unlike with upright forks, I think there might be issues with attaching the fork sensor to inverted fork structures. (The Helite fork sensor installation manual video only shows installation on upright forks.) How did you install the fork sensor on your Multistrada? Did you attach it above the fork mudguard to avoid interference? The manual advises against installing it above the fork, so I'm confused.

Which size is best suited for someone that wears M size cloths?
@mort77uk2 ай бұрын
I’m an M, so bought a medium size. I could have gone smaller as I’ve got the straps on their tightest setting. Large would be far too big.

On all my bikes, I sort the alignment - checking along the chain, running the wheel to see if it runs true, and using vernier calipers to make sure both adjusters are aligned. Once you have that sorted, chain tension is a breeze - you just turn your adjuster screws one 'flat' at a time, making sure you add/remove the same number of 'flats' on both sides. Perfect tension, and perfect alignment - only time you need to realign is if you have new tyres fitted.

What is your measurements and what size helite fits you? I am 5'9" to 5'10" and weigh 178 to 185 pounds. The medium fits me with a TINY bit of wiggle room on my revit jacket while the large fits me loose. Getting mixed fitting guides as many people either say go snugger and some say go looser...

In case you’re still looking for sizing for your vest, I’m similar to your specs and I wear a LL size. During my search for fitment info, it was generally recommended that you are able to fit your fists between your vest and chest fairly comfortably, which leaves room for the vest to fully deploy.
