Surprisingly the dealer said fitting a slightly lower screen helps like the Pike peak one , you get a little more wind buffering but wind noise is less. Always going to be a trade off and I have lived quite happily with the completely naked Scrambler for 3 years and you get a real wind buffeting at any high speeds as you would expect but it’s a bike it’s what we expect and love , I have a car when I want silence and calm 😂

You won’t be disappointed with the 950, I went with the S version for the electronic active suspension alone , it’s like ride a magic carpet. I loved my 1100 scrambler and didn’t want a bike that was going to lose that Sunday morning blast feeling and Multistrada is as nimble an fun no less but with the added bonus of all the convenience of a longer haul bike should you with to do some touring. I’m not looking to go too far but a few long weekends away with wifey on the back are definitely on the cards . I did take out the V4 as well for a test ride but to be honest it has too much unusable power unless your going to be off around Europe the 950 has all the gas you will want and definitely won’t leave you feeling you need more. As the name suggests it’s a multiple use bike and Ducati have absolutely nailed it after evolution from its ugly beginnings, oh and you get a 4 year warranty so it’s a no brainer. I went with the new Gp white just to be a little different. Red Ducati is always the colour of choice for most but the White has bit bit of everything . Hope you get one you like 👍

Awaiting delivery of mine . Is that the standard screen ? Just asking as the only negative I had from the test ride was a noisy helmet area from turbulent air, I’m 6ft 2’ but nothing that ear plugs can’t cure
@TheBoltHoleBiker3 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes, it is the standard screen. I am, around 5'9" ish and even I get a bit of dirty air on the top couple of inches of my helmet, so I'd guess at 6'2" it would be worse. I was considering getting one of those deflector things that attach to the top of the screen to have a bit of a play about with the movement of the air to see if I could improve it. I'm guessing there might be after market screens available as well? Anyway, enjoy your bike when you get it!

Stoked for your choice - gorgeous ride and so much fun! You should definitely ride it down to your adventure bike weekend and give it a light off-road break-in as well. If you decide you like some more light off-road, for that bike might I suggest you look at the Heed crash bars (they’re out of Poland) for four reasons (I had them on my 950). First, the lines of the Heed bars for the 950 follow the lines of the bike better than any others (they just look right on that bike, not out of place like some others). Second, they come up higher on the bike and do a better job protecting the top of your side fairings in a drop (I dropped my 950 a half-dozen plus times in the dirt - and never dinged my tank/fairings once and only slight scratches on the crash bars - very well built). Third, they come in black as well as silver - I personally think black looks better with the bike colors - and they have detachable carrier pouches for carrying more goodies on a trip (I haven’t seen any other crash bars with that as an option). Finally, in all my searches looking for the perfect crash bars, they were easily the least expensive (about $400 USD). Regardless - that’s a wicked, gorgeous, soul-stirring machine - enjoy!!!
@TheBoltHoleBiker3 жыл бұрын
Cheers! And thanks for the head's up on the Heed crash bars, I'll have a look into them. My brother has convinced me to take the dirt bike to the festival, so we are on the same type of bike, so it looks like the dirt initiation for the 950 is going to have to wait a bit! Should still be excellent fun though, I can't wait!

It is a bit of a tallish bike, but not too bad and I do have shortish legs! The seat height is 840mm and my little stumps are somewhere between 29 and 30 inches, which is around 730-750mm roughly, so I am tiptoed if I put both feet down, but not right on the tips, i can get a bit of the balls of my feet down. Having said that, I generally tend to just put one foot down and so have a complete flat foot on the floor. I don't see the bike height as an issue. It's not Tenere tall, that bike is too high in my opinion, certainly for me anyway.
