....Hot Hatches have been trying to KILL torque steer ever since the first ones in the 80s. And only quite recently Honda/Peugeot/Renault/Ford/Volkswagen KILLED it just about, using tricky front differentials................and now in 2025 YOU are telling me this Hot Hatch EV has torque steer, which is what you expect in your Hot Hatch??????

I don't like the minimalist look inside though. A HUD would have been good, but I suppose with Teslas safety features it isn't really necessary.

That 212 Wh/km on the highway, driving at 120 km/h, is not so bad. For context, my RWD Model Y uses more like 190 Wh/km under good circumstances at that speed. Granted, the average speed was 112 km/h but that's probably the result from traffic, off-raps, slower zones, etc. 400+ km legs on a road trip is really long. That somewhat mitigates the slowish DC charge speed, which I think is one of the few faults of this car.

Awesome update! Don't understand the pricing on the launch edition though.. Yes it includes some extra's within that higher price, but I suspect mostly business owners / leasing contracts will get the new Model Y as it's quite expensive for consumers... The issue is then that you'd be better off buying things like "acceleration boost", tow hitch etc afterwards, because they all increase the retail/list price of the car, so you will be paying extra interest and taxes over those upgrades, which isn't the case if you add them later on. I suspect the new Model Y won't be a sale success until after they launch the default long range and RWD versions (non-launch editions)

Tesla is all about functionality. The Model Y is disguised as a sedan but has SUV characteristics in terms of functionality.

@jamespaul2587 I probably used the term DISGUISE wrongly in this context. It looks a lot like a sedan and not a crossover. It is unique. Crossovers are mostly butch/muscular looking station wagons with extra ground clearance if you will and a higher o/p power mill. The Model Y has the extra ground clearance with the sportback boot along and taller which differentiates it from the Model 3. It does have the default dual motor setup which would make it towards a decent amount of weight.

The main (front) cameras are behind the swept area of the windshield wipers, so they're cleaned automatically. The others may have to be cleaned before you start a trip where you're going to use FSD or AP, just as you'd have to clean the side windows before you start a trip where you're going to drive yourself.

Of course they could be wrong, but this was specifically communicated to us by the team that had set up the showing of the model Y. it wasn’t just a comment made by some random sales person

Thanks for clearing that up, because the sales persons have been wrong before haha... with Tesla often times the consumer knows more about the car than the guy selling them in the showroom 😅. Powered frunk would be awesome, especially the closing part, because if you accidentally open it while away, there's no way to close it.

I have the MG4 and I'm super happy with it. Very pleasent driving, beautiful design and everything I would hope in an electric car (or any car for that matter). The 51kwh LFP battery gives me more than 400km in the summer and around 350km in the winter, which is great. Defenately recommended.

Great to watch the review, especially the detail on regen/one pedal. As a Tesla m3 owner ‘looking around’ for next car, it comes close, but one-pedal + route planning sadly seems non-negotiable.

We should ban Tesla since Musk became the political rat he shows us right now. I never used Twitter or X, nr any of the Meta platforms. I own a Polestar 2 Performance from introduction. I love the car, it is like a cart on the gravel roads here in Sweden. Even my wife's Volvo XC40 P6 is fun to drive up and down the hills.
