Your review not accurate. Roger’s red card only 2% for customers with Roger’s service otherwise minuscule. World elite 3% only on USD purchase and you must spend at least 15000 a year to keep elite card status or it will be downgraded to red card. It’s not in the same league as Cobalt. MBNA WE better Mastercard than any other MC. One most important feature to consider on any credit card is customer service. This is why Amex cobalt king of credit cards.

Well the cash back if you spend 2-3k a week it starts making sense having the highest cash back. My weekly food bill is around 1k. @ 2% thats $80 back per month x 12= $960 per year minus $228 for the top plan thats still $732 in cash back not to mention the $500 in gas weekly and other expenses. Cash back totals approximately $2k per year. Then add 5% interest on your money.

I think it would have been good to talk about an alternative to GICs in cash fund ETFs or other similar products that you can trade in your registered accounts. They provide almost guaranteed returns but you can pull your money out anytime. Plus, since its in a registered account, your money grows tax-free unlike the high-interest savings accounts you mentioned.
