I just read Sonke Ahrens book expecting to bring clarity on Zettelkasten and thought I was the only one who thought it brought more confusion

Handwriting is highly connected with memorizing and effectively understanding. If you need real stuff - real handwriting is the way. You have to actively reproduce it to learn it and to think through it. Obsidian doesn't help to learn anything IMO. It creates an impression that you learnt something because you stored it. Yeah, I've stored lots of violin scores on my PC. Did I know how to play them? Nope.

Quick question sometimes I listen to different types of podcasts and so I usually use the transcription to take notes? Any thoughts on this. Sometimes it’s academic courses as well as other topics.

I believe in body, soul, and spirit. Maybe we can understand our voices in three. Tracking my voices in my head is separate from the voice I hear in my heart. Brain dumping on the paper I use. My emotion of anger went high yesterday. Being an artist, I took this emotion and did a live KZbin into collaging art and released this emotion. It took a while because this thing is a build-up of 20 years. I am learning this card system. I do have an ADHD brain to work with. It is hard to focus and keep track if it is not simple. Yes, waiting to do things at the last minute can be me.😊❤

I have a serious doubt. If I've the numbering 4214/17/1 followed with 4214/17/1a and continued till 4214/17/1z. I already have card running 4214/17/2 and followed with 4214/17/2a till 4214/17/2z. In this case how will I insert a new card between 4214/17/1z and 4214/17/2 which is a continuation of 4214/17/1 and not part of 4214/17/2

I went through the entire Sonke Ahrens book, listened to the audiobook again and again, read the ebook twice atleast and then went through section trying to make notes on note cards. He says at the end that it was using the method of the zettlekasten he wrote his book. So i attempted to reverse engineer so to speak. Now this made me a sharper reader and writer. But also realised most of his book does not focus on how to practically create and use your own zettlekasten. Im so glad i came across your videos

Bought your book today, and also got the e-book deal. I followed your guide, which was super clear if you actually read it - and I know have my ZK ready for action. Following the guide, I've also started on my first bib-card, translating everything into Swedish as I write and think. I will sleep well tonight! Stay crispy!

@Elisha_the_bald_headed_prophet8 күн бұрын
Lol I love the silent heart. I think he uses 4"x6" (10cm x 15cm) and I do too. It really depends on how much you'll write on each card. I'm often done with one sentence and find the size too generous (the zk gets heavy and cumbersome to carry around).

Europeans and Americans have a traditional way of meditating. That is walking in the forest. Japanese Buddhism calls this behavior forest bathing, Buddha also liked to walk in the deer forest in the past. So, you just need to walk in a place with lots of trees, don't imitate the rich people meditating, they are just seeing meditation as a luxury fashion. Of course, we Buddhists don't like people like that.
@Congq13245Ай бұрын
I am a Buddhist, I confirm to you that meditation according to successful people is a failure, because the effect of meditation is happiness and knowing how to be satisfied with what you have. And Buddhism does not aim at fame, that is a taboo because it is greed Sitting in meditation and thinking about being rich is a mistake. In medicine, meditation actually has an effect, which is to improve concentration and stabilize emotions, which bring many benefits to work performance. On the other hand, the intuitive experience of scientists, or the intuition that appears when using zettelkasten (Ahrens said in his book) In my opinion, it is also a form of meditation, which is koan meditation. In the Zen tradition of Japan, Vietnam, China, Zen masters will give their students a difficult question, the students will let their unconscious mind freely think about Buddhist theories to deduce about that question, after a certain period of time, intuition for the solution will emerge in their mind, and that is an extremely joyful feeling. Zettelkasten is the same, you read the notes (thoughts) every day about your daily assumptions, sometimes let your mind wander about that assumption and at some point, your mind suddenly flashes an intuition about the idea and you are happy about it

6:18 Interesting sentence from the book 8:44 Bib-note (literature note) is announcement to the location of a notable quotes in the book, not a summary of the author's ideas 9:05 On the Bib-note content, you can add 'a keyword come from the index' about where the sentence in the book will be "distilled and archived" in the main-note-box 9:49 index (register? I don't know) - is where an entrypoint is stored. And an "entrypoint" that leads to a cluster of notes related to the topic "contribution" is stored 10:53 - end: take a cluster of thoughts from the topic "contribution", spread them out on the table, read them. In the end, take a new note about "How you "fit" the ideas from the book into the cluster of thoughts"

This would be great, even despite the distractions of shaky cam focus, way too bright lighting, and unpracticed presentation... but the short shorts and REALLY wide manspreading seriously detracts from the otherwise-would-be-helpful presentation content. Please. Put some pants on and refrain from pushing your genitals towards the camera - it's offensive to anyone who's survived a lifetime of toxic mansplaining.
