Hey man. Once again your videos are the best! I have 2 questions, 1 completely unrelated to the video (but you're my go to guy for questions lol). So lets say I want to automate an entire portion of reggaeton to cut out the higher frequencies... is there an easier way than doing it piece by piece? I guess I could bounce that whole area to audio and then automate the audio file. Is that the easiest way? My second unrelated question is: if I am sampling something from splice with serato sample, should I go with the key serato gives me or that splice says? (it's cool if you don't know that one) Keep up the great videos!
@itstonyholiday3 жыл бұрын
1) not sure what you mean here. 2) Id say go with Serato sample more often than not. With Splice it’s not uncommon for them to be mislabelled. Thanks for watching as always!

Hi Tony! Thanks for the video, its great content as usual. I was just wondering, wouldnt automating gain instead of volume be better? This way you dont interfere with volume faders and that should provide better control during mixing/mastering phase. Id love to hear your thoughts on it.
@itstonyholiday3 жыл бұрын
Hey Antoni, thank you for the kind words regarding my content, really appreciate it. Honestly, I don't know if it will or not. Typically in the digital realm either of them will usually behave in a similar manner unless you're clipping. Personally I wouldn't worry about it too much, the gain would just be pre-fader and the volume knob would just be post-fader.

Hey I want to record a song and I would like logic to change track during recording. By using volume automation the guitar switches from one sound to another, when I play. The problem is that it doesn't change sound, when I record. Some choose different inputs for each track, but when I change the input on one track, then the sound dissappears. I could record each sound one at a time, but in this song it seams weird, because the song changes between two sounds all the time. Do You have an idea what to do?
@itstonyholiday2 жыл бұрын
I would record the sounds separately.

@@itstonyholiday, I have done that before, but it seems so stupid, if You have a song that changes a lot between two sounds.

@@itstonyholiday, I got this answer on a logic pro forum: "a better approach would be to have one track routed to three busses via sends. See attached project which will effect the input signal with one of three channel strips for two bars each, either while recording or while playing back (make sure to disarm the recording track before playing back)." I didn't understand it. Maybe You do? I can't open the attached project to see it.

@@sgguitar I need a better example. I don't quite understand why you need the two to be recording at the same time? If it's audio you're after, why can't you just chop it up and move the audio to the other track after you've recorded it all in one take?
@sgguitar2 жыл бұрын
@@itstonyholiday, if I record all in one take, I am going to do that with one sound. It's easier to play great, if You have the right sounds. I also don't know how to apply different sounds on one track after recording. If I record one sound, stop and record a new sound, then I have to make the videos fit together. If I move my body, when I make the next sound, You will see it. I'm a newbie with logic. Reaper was easy. I made volume automation and then the sound would automatically change while recording. Anyway I like logic better and want to use that.

Why cant I get clean automated mutes with no pops or clicks when I automate? I want total silence as soon I mute No sounds should be heard when I mute. Can someone give me a suggestion why this is happening?
@itstonyholiday2 жыл бұрын
Workaround could be to just cut out the part of the track

I don't know if it's just me or not, but when I automate drastic EQ cuts, something like 20kh to like 5k, there's a pop sound and that super annoying. Any ideas on how to fix that???

Is it everytime you automate high cuts? Or just noticed on specific tracks?
