Part 2 of 2 of the Logic Pro X 10.5 Step Sequencer Series is here! This time we're exploring the modes we missed out on in the first video that are more specific for using melodic instruments. We'll be exploring the Tie, Note, and Octave, modes and how you can implement them into your own melodies with the Step Sequencer. Personally, I've stuck with midi for now because I'm comfortable using it and I've developed a good workflow, but I can see the Step Sequencer being a very powerful tool once you get the hang of it.

Thanks for the comment Sean! I agree with you, there’s the possibility of making it seem a little more alive but at that point I’d probably just want the freedom of using midi. Hoping to put the sound pack out soon, but need this artwork! Thanks again 👍

Great tuto ! I used this for 2 weeks with a method that works well for me : 1) Open the piano with the Step Sequencer and I try to make a melody with the scale quantitazer with at least 32 steps 2) I work on the velocity (that why I use the piano, the velocities are easy to listen) 3) Right click and export to midi 4) I do my adjustment, some notes octave up or down with the midi notes 5) I add with the midi region chords 1 octave up or down And that's it, easy original melody

Goodbye Piano Roll. After using the Synthstrom Deluge for two years Logic has emulated it's interface. It is so fast to get complex beats and melodies together. The biggest addition is the Chance parameter allowing you to never repeat a pattern twice. You can still convert to Piano roll later but this interface is much faster and tuneable.
@itstonyholiday
@itstonyholiday 3 жыл бұрын
I still use piano roll but I’ll be the first to admit that I haven’t really given the step sequencer a chance for melodies. I’m happy to hear that someone has found it to be useful! The chance parameter is defo a cool one. Thanks for watching + the comment

Would be cool if you can enter in sequencer note steps via a midi controller. I'm a player and use MIDI and the Piano Roll like you but imagine if we can record or input steps in sequencer patterns using a midi controller and then mess with those notes using the sequencer modes. That would be a killer workflow - HINT HINT APPLE!

I’ll try and break it down here: Get your stereo-out mix to below zero. Toss on an adaptive limiter and set the threshold to below 0. Pump the gain. This is not mastering. It’s more what you asked about making your mixes louder. Hope that helps

Hi Tony, I always see your videos, and I think you have the disposition to respond to people, I have had a problem and perhaps more people have had it too, when installing logic x version 10.5.1, when opening the program it stops when It says ''updating information about audio units modules'' , and then I force the exit of logic and it says ''Elicencer control error '' below that message it says that a plugin is causing the error, but I deleted what I found from those plugins and the same problem, do you know what can be done in that case? thank you!
