Melodie, I love your Christmas gift from Ryan!! 🤣🤓🤩 So practical!! Just what you wanted aye?? 🤣 My hubby was of the same practical mindset: so I received a hedge trimmer for Valentines Day, birthday, a weed whacker for my birthday and a Shark vacuum for Christmas! I’m a Master Gardner so of course I loved being out doors, barefoot and grubby. For Easter when kids were little, once trimmed & trained a shrub into the shape of a rabbit, ears & big bow for his neck. I don’t think he ever noticed! 🥸😅

😂Now that is a cute comment! Seeeee.... I like to get prizes that I can use too. I mean, a 'planer'?? That's something that I can always use and build stuff with. That's my plan... to be a builder lady! That is adorable! You made a rabbit shrub?! I call that skillz!! Thank you for coming and watching... you always leave such great comments!

Ohh for real! I mean, what people may not know is that Ryan had to climb inside of Pepper while the barge was moving and it was parked slightly diagonally... always needs to be proper weight distribution. The people on the shore were directing us and I was TERRIFIED. He just said this morning... 'That thing could have tipped over'.... EEEEK!

Wondering what that building is in the background at 11.01 minutes into the video?
@mywildholmКүн бұрын
Hello there! Welcome to our channel! That building is at the public boat launch down the lake where we currently have to load the large loads from. As far as we know the building you asked about is an uninhabited cabin that has been there for quite some time. There is a small seasonal group of cabins on that end of the lake and we have to launch large loads from there because we are unable to get Crown land for a small parking spot on the shore. Thank you for watching! 💚

When ever n where ever you build a dock system you may consider where your high tide line is in the spring and low point in the fall as to where to put it, but also in the fall when it's low to take pepper and dredge out a canal for the barge that way you can keep a some solar aerators around the barge for the winter

My dad promised to build my sister and I a cubby for Christmas in 1970, I was 5 and my sister was 7. Our home land, 1acre, was shaped like a valley in the middle. Woke Christmas morning to water lapping the floor boards. Rained all day. At 3 pm dad put us in the dinghy we had,floated us across the water and built the cubby house in the rain ☺️❤️ we had a wonderful dad. Miss him greatly. I hope you had a great Christmas

I would have put up a net over the berries. I had a patch of thornless blackberries I planted in my backyard. The birds would devour them and I would barely get a handful of berries from the patch. After I put up the net I was able to make a couple cobblers the next year. Sadly a little sparrow’s foot got stuck in the net and it died. So 1/4 to 1/2 inch wire mesh would be a better option to prevent a bird getting stuck.
@mywildholmКүн бұрын
@kpstx ohhh yes.. we have plans that include protecting them but as you'll see later in the Season, we had an amazing outcome!! So much more to come!! Thank you for watching!

I have an idea, why don’t you paint guides on the barge edging both the tracks of Pepper ( of course when doing so she would need to be perfectly centered or at least outer track measurements centered to ramps) to use as a guide when you can’t see the ramps to make sure she is centered on the ramps. You could then when unloading, just line up one side of her tracks knowing you are will also be perfectly centered on the ramps also. I still can’t figure out why you just didn’t back up the barge and just come in straight rather than that angle before grounding it in the first place ( was pretty obvious that the ramps wouldn’t set down evenly on a hill)😮 Need to think & plan better/smarter & have less issues doing things. If they could build the pyramids with no machinery, must’ve planned ahead you know work smarter, not harder.
@mywildholmКүн бұрын
The best idea!! We've figured out a few things since all of this started.. Strangely enough, the visibility from inside of Pepper is really quite limiting...surprisingly so. Thank you so much for your comments and we appreciate you watching! 💚

Yes I thought same thing or even gaffer tape or similar which woukd be removable if they change to a different length or width item

Maybe put some mirrors on sides of pepper, so U can see better when inside pepper

Having been an equipment operator most of my life and having others work for me,, I can more than appreciate Ryan's skill and dexterity with such a powerful machine. He makes it look so easy for those who aren't familiar such machines. However, I had to laugh when he objected to eating a burnt hot dog because "They aren't good for you", as if an unburned frankfurter is. LOL
@mywildholmКүн бұрын
Ryan's a pretty good operator - he's got a knack for it for sure and has gotten better each time! 😆 We eat veggie weiners, so no Frankfurters 💚

I don’t understand when didn’t just adjust the angle while pulling up to it in the first place.

🎄So glad to see you here. I hope you both had a wonderful Christmas. I enjoy your channel so much and it touches my heart to watch y’all work together and encourage each other, etc. I almost feel like I know you. I definitely admire and respect you. You are two amazing people that God in His awesomeness put together. My little family kept it low this year. My niece was born on my Mama’s birthday, Dec 22nd. Jeffery, my brother, had to work 24th and 25th 12 hour shifts so it was just easier all the way around to combine the birthday and Christmas. We went to a steak house called The Chop House. Lauren’s boyfriend was with us and I hadn’t met him. All the rest of my family adore him and I found out how precious and good to Lauren he is. She is due one to be good to her. We went to Jeffery’s house for gifts. I just gave gift cards and painted everyone a Christmas card. I enjoyed it just being with my family. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day I was home. I napped, painted, and watched videos. Thought a lot about why we celebrate Christmas. I’m looking forward to your live tomorrow night to hear how you two spent Christmas. 🎄 I’ve had many gifts wrapped just like Ryan’s! 😂 I love to wrap gifts though. I need to hush up. Take care and know how so many of us love and appreciate all the work you put in to videoing your adventure. See you tomorrow night. 🙏🏻🎄🎅🏻🤶🏻

How we love reading your comments. Always so uplifting with tidbits of support and kindness. An interesting family update - sometimes the quiet Christmas's aren't a bad way to spend them. We felt exhausted from the past year and so it was a bit of a reprieve - I couldn't imagine being caught in the airports with the winter storms. We love and appreciate you! Thank you so much for watching and appreciating our journey like you do! 💚
