I’ve loved watching surgery procedure videos for years. Now I’m watching the procedure I’m having tomorrow! Thank you for this!

People ask me why I am watching this when I'm supposed to have it done soon. Probably the same as all you, to know what they are going to do or what they did. I think it's important to know.

Good luck. I'm hopefully having this at the end of this month. The pain has me so worn down, I'm practically bed ridden when I'm not at word.

For all of those wondering how Al is doing. Today marks the 9th anniversary (Sept. 17, 2024) of his back surgery. If you have watched this video, you can see that he is your typical down to earth person. He is nine years pain free and doing very well, working everyday at his job. We celebrate with family and friends on this special day as we have done every year. We don't know what the future holds for any of us, but what we do know is he has his life back! As his mother, I can say I'm very proud of him for making this momentous decision. I'm not here promoting, but giving an honest response on how it has changed his life. Not everyone has a positive outcome with not only this surgery, but any surgery. I wish you all a pain free life, no matter what direction you choose for you. Debby

It's pretty weird that no one speaks about costs...replacing discs is just super expensive and unfortunately only few can afford.

So I"m guessing these spacers put in are rotational? They look like they have the ability to rotate with the patients neck. Is this the case? And I like the fact there are no plates to freeze the bones in place. Nice work!!

@peacelove654 Yes I had it went well. I had to wear a neck brace even all day even for bed which was hard couldn't swallow for a couple of days and my voice came back in days but other then that my pain is gone I highly recommend the procedure

Cherry picked people, all of which were in desperate shape & ended up with glaringly positive results, picked to promote the surgery & pander to a pioneer of the procedure, pure propaganda. You could chose all people with bad results & push the opposite conclusion. The fact that you didn't include anyone with a negative experience says everything about the purpose of this video.

@EnandeGmbH Would it be possible a follow-up video about how is he doing now, 7 years after the surgery? I have watched and listened a lot about these procedures but as a healthcare provider and a chronic back patient with 2 surgeries I would really appreciate to see how the whole thing evolves throughout the years and not only the short/mid term results. Thank you very much for considering this and for your content!

7 years later......wondering how he is doing? I just had a failed L3-4 discectomy/laminotomy. Surgeon said fusion. But I am so scared as I am degenerative at L4-5 & L5-S1 that it will cause this trickle affect or that it won't relieve the leg/hip nerve pain. (and that I can't ski). I am in So Cal. Don't think I would be able to do this in Germany unfortunately. Do you work with any experts like yourselves over here? Thank you in advance.

Too bad. From what I've researched I may not be able to get this surgery for my degenerated disc C5-6 ... was born with congenital torticollis and congenital scoliosis. I'll have to live with a degenerative disc that will be horrific at age 62 now. I'll see as I get older. Maybe I shouldn't worry. I should just take one day at a time.

Hello Mario sorry for your pain. I'm from India and too poor to afford to fly to Germany to get ADR . What should I do
@marioalday59669 ай бұрын
Before the surgery i was advised by some doctors to enter a controlled pain management program, as an alternative to surgery. Perhaps it can be a relief for some people. My problem was the ruptured discs were pressing the medula so it was necessary to remove the pressure and pain killers were not a solution, but might help you. The surgery did cost 35K USD and yes, it is expensive. The surgeon told me before the surgery, it is advised to wait for at least a couple of years before having the surgery if there is no neurological complications, because sometimes the pain may subside with time.

In 2010 on the right side of my neck I had 2 disk replace in my neck , Now I feel like more went bad Like number 3 and 4 crushed on me , Every since I done this , it destroyed my life and all it is hurt 24/7 , I cannot go to sleep at night like a normal human being I feel like I'm on crack cocaine or something , and all I do is take pain killers, What can you tell me to do about this so I can get fixed and go back to work , The doctor that done this he absolutely FAILED, He did not know what he was doing , He discharged me and I had problems 3 months later And he would not see me no more

It's great to hear you were able to ride again. Let's face it: eventually, old age is going to take these fun activities away from us; I am glad to see that you were able to find a way to keep at it despite the injury. Right now I am dealing with just L5-S1 issues and can relate to the struggle. I bookmarked this doc in case I find myself needing to look into this. At the moment I am only 2 months post of microdiscectomy. I think I still have a shot at recovering, at least for a few more years, before I need to consider a full disk replacement.
