I love that you have demonstrated that bees aren't programmed to attack people. The bee is only worried about the pollen in the flowers. As long as you respect their space, they're not going to harm you. We noted in France that the windows don't have screens even if there are tons of bees out. Again, they're only after pollen and don't want to fly inside. If a bee lands on your arm or hand, all you have to do is be still and appreciate it until it flies off. That, or you can softly blow on it to make it fly off. HOWEVER, if you're allergic to bees in a deadly way, maybe you don't want to garden. I worked in the ER for 20 years. We had a lady that was deathly allergic to bees, but loved gardening more. When she got stung, she calmly called 911, injected her Epi Pen, unlocked her front door, had her purse in her lap with her medication list and allergies on her lap and just waited for EMS to show up, hopefully before she stopped breathing. And if she stopped breathing? She was good with that because she loved gardening that much.

I learned a lot! I would have never planted cuttings on the outer edge of the pot, but I now understand why. I can't tell you how many hours I've spent trying to tease roots apart. Also, it appears that there is no reason to use expensive rooting hormone as long as you treat the cuttings properly. What do you think about dipping the cuttings in honey before potting? Also, planting in potatoes? I understand both give more nutrients so the cuttings will root faster, but I've never done it. Have you?

@perennial-garden3 күн бұрын
We're just a quick walk down to the beach -- a very cute little coastal town :) As for the drought, THANKFULLY it ended a few weeks after that video... but it was pretty serious for the farmers mainly. And since then, we've not had one. Denmark is so used to lots of rain that even a few weeks without it causes quite the trouble.

Have you ever tried pink pens, instead of permanent markers? I know that I’ve used permanent markers for years and it seems to wear off before the plant gets ready to pick in the garden or get ready to give me put out into the garden as a transplant but now that I’m doing winter sewing, it was recommended that paint pens won’t fade Just to tip

Congrats on 2 years! Your garden is beautiful and you've inspired me to start more plants from seed and propagate what I already have. I was just talking with my husband about how much I love your grapevine growing in your greenhouse and how I would like to attempt it as well. My GH is 8x12. Do you run a fan during summer to keep airflow movement or any other special care? Thank you so much and keep making us videos to watch!!!
@perennial-garden3 күн бұрын
Love your comment! So glad you’re growing the garden from seed and cuttings too ❤️ For the greenhouse, we don’t have a fan. During the summer, we’ll open the doors and windows (in the roof) to let air in. (Although now we have king quails in there so we can’t open the door) We also paint a type of chalk paint (made for greenhouses) on the top glass pieces to keep the sun from being so harsh - it washes off after a good few days of rain and we paint it back. But overall, the grapes love the warmth and sunshine - the more sun, the sweeter the grapes. :) I think ours is a Black Hamburg… but the previous house owner didn’t remember. Hope that helps! 🥰

Did you know the flower from Daylily can be picked and does not need water to last all day. You can do that with most Daylily flowers. Some daylily flowers open extra early in the day, thus this practice with the extra early opening Daylily flowers won't last as long as others if they are picked to enjoy for the day. I sometimes pick a variety of Daylily flowers and sit them on a round pizza tray which is brought into my back porch because there are often ants in the flowers. Anyway, just a bit of information for you about Daylilies. At the end of the day all the spent Daylily flowers are pitched on the compost pile. Happy 2 year Anniversary on KZbin. You two could have a TV show about gardening with perennials, etc. In the U.S. there are no longer many gardening shows on TV. HGTV (House and Garden TV) channel is mostly about fixing up houses and selling them. Public TV has only a few garden shows. We depend on KZbin, which is your platform to educate gardeners and show how you garden. We enjoy your videos on KZbin. It was interesting in the video to see the taller house views from neighbors in back (or front) of your house. I did not notice that before. Your son looks happy and has a nice smile. Loved the cemetery garden tour. I guess large stone grave markers are not permitted, which makes the cemetery more beautiful to spend time in.
@perennial-garden3 күн бұрын
What great info about Daylillies! I wish we had more… but just not enough space for everything we want ❤️ And I know what you mean… we don’t have any garden shows here on tv either - sometimes we get an episode in a house renovation show. But KZbin it is! - and there are some really beautiful gardens on here to watch ❤️❤️

That’s a fair point. Thanks ❤️ The statistic is every second day. So, 170+ would be accurate. With a yearly average of 4 hours of sunshine a day.
