Dusty baker was an excellent coach afterall. He was unfairly vilified even after getting those bums to a world series. Karma

Houston is officially trash by Sam been since they started cheating Dusty really has been one of the greatest coaches chose to try to take a couple rings allowing this team to beat band members playing drums and whatnot so all I got to say is the ball don't lie that applies to every sport that I've ever played

Thanks Chiliman!!! Can't say I'm surprised. Hope they can find a centerfielder a first baseman a third baseman and another outfielder so the utility guy doesn't play everyday.

@markkar4663 I don't know how the Abreu contract works, if it counts towards the luxury cap next year, but if it does that'll definitely hurt the chances that we do much of anything exciting this off-season. Verlander and Pressly will come off the books, so there may be some money to be given out, but there's still the Montero contract as well. As far as adding pieces, I have a feeling about all we'll be getting is 1 B tier hitter. Certainly no pitching as they'll probably just lean on having Framber, Hunter, Arrighetti, then Garcia coming back and maybe Javier late next year. Doubt they keep Kikuchi, though tbh I don't know that I'd want to keep him. I'd hate to make the same mistake as Montero and pay someone with an incredibly mid track record just because of one good year. They develop pitching so well that I'm ok letting Framber walk after next year. If it were up to me I'd be paying Bregman and Tucker. Bregman has his faults, but it feels like the well of prospects to just plug in the vacated positions has run dry. Peña hasn't developed nearly like he was supposed to and has been completely MIA in the playoffs the last 2 years. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Dezenzo or Whitcomb just need a chance to have the job, maybe Jacob Melton breaks out (though for all the drooling over him from Dana Brown he's been rather underwhelming in AAA), but there's just too many questions marks and "maybe". I haven't looked at the FA list yet, but someone I've heard a lot about coming here that I'd like to have is Pete Alonso. Guess we'll find out. Regardless, I've always been the "until they show me I shouldn't trust them, I'm going to" mentality, to "until they show me I CAN trust them, I wont". I will no longer be the "everyone needs to calm down and stop overreacting" guy. I don't believe in Espada. I don't believe in our team like i did. One too many core pieces may finally be leaving to continue churning through the AL. The first round picks aren't what they once were. The last 5 years we've only seen Tucker and Yainer as breakout stars in the lineup and Tucker was a top pick from 2016.... Yainer is the lone exception that was found by James Click, who apparently wasn't good enough for Crane. Who needs 106 wins and a championship, amiright? Not when it's not done the way Crane wanted! Unless 2 more prospects suddenly become something they haven't shown to be, i fear this is the beginning of the end. Free Agents like Michael Brantley are pieces added to an internal core..... not bandaids to slap on to stop the bleeding....

Have to say, I got a lot of grief about some things I’ve said and been right about. 1. When Hader was signed for stupid money at 30 yrs old, I said it was a terrible move. 2. I said it will be a short October because we’re not that good this year, just in a terrible division. 3. Yordan is a great contact hitter but his large frame will make for MANY injuries so big money multi year signings is a high risk, potential high reward manoeuvre. I wouldn’t place big money there. 4. I really have never thought Peña, or Germy Penis, was worth a dime. 5. McCormick….. just no! Meyers….. nope! Jay Hey…. Just why? None of these can hit water if they jumped into a pool. Oh, but they’re great defensively, says the peanut gallery!!! Well, that defence doesn’t score us any much needed runs!! 3 runs in two wild card playoff games is dismal. Anyways….. off the soap box now. Thanks Chillz, for a great year of highlights! You’re the best!

Well, you started off with your 3rd best pitcher. And when we lost in an elimination game, you didn't play your best pitcher - Kikuchi. Detroit started off with a statement playing their best player. This was on Espada. Anyway, we weren't supposed to be here anyway. Hopefully everyone gets healthy next year and we sign everyone that makes a difference.

Well, all good things come to an end. It was a long shot to even make the postseason this year. Nearly everyone was saying IF they made it, they would'nt go far. I knew this team plays so inconsistent at times it would be when the bell tolled, and not if on this season. Id much rather be moving on to the next series and its a bit hard to be upset about Hinch getting to move on. And you look at JV at the end of the game, having left Detroit to come here. I guess things have just come full circle. I only have 1 wishes for the offseason and next year. 1) somehow find a way to be more consistent And 2) if they're able to work something out with Breggy. He's one of the best defensive 3rd basemans in the league. A huge supporter in the dugout and helping the pitchers. One of the best eyes in the league and if the uhhhh-mps would stop calling him out on balls off the plate his OBP would be even better and wouldn't be forced to swing at trash pitches trying to stay in the AB. He'd be even better. If Alex lingers at the plate a little hesitantly, you should know as an Ump that was a terrible call. Pay that man and give us robo challenges on plate calls or something. Thanks Chili for being the GOAT replay guy we all know and love. Always bringing the best videos for us to see without fail, win or lose, just like the mailman adage, you deliver.

Many of you defended Presley and Hader all year. I’ve often wondered if y’all actually watched the games or just Chili’s highlights. Those of us who watched every inning of every game tried to tell y’all that Presley and Hader weren’t good but y’all didn’t want to listen. If they’re on this team next year the dynasty is over. Also need to trade Tucker. He acts like he doesn’t care if they win or lose. Half the time he doesn’t even put in the effort to make a play or drive the ball or run the bases. After Peña scored he was PUMPED but Tuck barely acknowledged it. I don’t think he wants to play for the Astros. If they don’t sign Breggy it’s definitely over. He and Altuve are the heart and soul of this team. Oh! And we need a 1B. I vote for Caratini. Very entertaining roller coaster year that ended in sadness. Good luck next year Astros. Maybe I’ll be watching, the lord willing.
@alxm12712 ай бұрын
Tuck is Ok, Astros need one more consistency-hitter outfielder to make Yordan a permanent DH and play him out only in case of emergency. I would try to poach Arozarena (cough, cough, Juan Soto, the impossible dream), but he's under control until 2027, so I would try to check on the FA market: Cody Bellinger, Marcell Osuna, Charlie Blackmon, Joc Pederson, the list is pretty interesting. If Astros really want to get a strong 1B, they should go for Christian Walker from the D-Backs, he will be on the free agency market come 2025. Pete Alonso is another great possibility, but I believe he wants to stay with the Mets. And yes, 100% Breggie is the best 3B in the FA market and one of the best in the game right now.
@jenniferduncan49662 ай бұрын
@@alxm1271 I agree with most of that except Tuk. In my book anyone who doesn’t give 100% on every offensive and defensive play isn’t “ok”. He’s bad and idc how much of a superstar he is. Let him go be an allstar somewhere else. There are way too many outfielders we can sign if we don’t have to pay Tuk money he doesn’t deserve. On a side note, I hope they keep JaHey. I like his attitude. He may not be the hitter Brantley was but he fills that role in the dugout and clubhouse.
