I just learned from this video that Ray Kurzweil came out with his new book, something he's been promising for over 10 years!! In the original book, I thought his track record of predictions on AI were excellent, but he kind of dropped the ball on nanotechnology and life extension as these things do not seem to be tracking with his timeline! 😢

Don't believe anything they say about "the climate crisis!" If you take all of their predictions and claims of the climate crisis going back 30 years, you'll see that most of them were flat out wrong and the rest were highly exaggerated! 😂

07:24 That's looks pretty much how the old Microsoft Kinect worked; a known pattern, and then with the camera slightly offset from the projector the system evaluates how the pattern got distorted by parallax. Huh, I though they had some sort of LIDAR/Time-of-Flight system on the iPhones instead... Maybe it's the compression making it look like a steady but random-ish pattern instead of a regular grid that would be harder to figure out exactly which part of the pattern the system is looking at... Gotta go watch that Action Lab video next (that guy's very lucky to have such a recognizable voice with how much his clips get yonked without credit...) edit: v=i4n2DRHdrO0 Turns out the front camera uses the Kinect style parallax system and the rear camera uses a LIDAR grid (and I actually had the same surprise when I watched that back when it was originally posted, can still see the comment about it)

If they use swarm thinking per flying unit for flying taxis, then I imagine there'll be no option to fly your own vehicle manually in a lot of places. The swarm lanes would be restricted airspace. And if the robot makers want to sell their robots to us humes at home, they need to take a leaf out of Disney's cute book. Give the bots personality and people will be less likely to treat them as toasters which means less will get damaged and that will save money. Also they'd sell more. Which suggests that if humanoid robots were Disneyfied, the short ones for home that people aren't scared of, people would be more likely to trust them rather than fear the bot will come and knife them in their sleep. And anti aging drugs will be a restricted commodity I think. A person won't be able to go to their doc and say 'Doc I'm getting old, can you help me' doc says 'sure, here's a way to maintain muscle mass while you get older. Merry Christmas.' I think when we reach aging escape velocity, it won't be spread to the masses. Only the folks with the money will get to live radically longer lives. And given they run everything, from elections to the surveillance tech being used to keep an eye on us, will that be a good thing? I think not. Strange world we are moving into. All my sci fi stuff as a kid is becoming not only fact, but fact moving rapidly into the past. Talking to a machine and having it not only reply, but reply with apparent understanding, has be science fiction for so long, yet now I use ChatGPT and Claude quite often. Soon they'll be ubiquitous. All the Ok Google people with Siri and Alexa and Cortana will be talking to LOM's. And I won't be surprised if iRobot, the Roomba folks, update their Roombas to be voice operated.

200th birthday: My ancestors by far mostly lived to their 90’s to 100’s smoking, moderate to low exercise, drinking, poor diet, diabetes. Only one died before 85 in the past six generations. I do none of those bad behaviors. And I do not drive fast cars, gamble or skydive - boring you might think. I get a lot of exercise, i eat Whole Foods I cook. Low stress life. I feel the same as I did at 30 but I am 62. No aches or pains. I can still lift and carry 300 lbs and lift >500 lbs to flip big hay bales. I am agile. Just got my annual labs and physical and I am in perfect health. Many say if you can live ten years we will have immortality. Barring accident I put my chances of getting to ten more years at 100%. This makes the 200th birthday a high probability, barring accidents.

22:00 Whoever made the suggestion was right to do so. Please consider his presentation at The Sol Foundation, located at Stanford (founded by Dr. Peter Skafish and Dr. Gary Nolan). Title: Karl Nell on The Schumer Amendment & Controlled Disclosure This may sound wacky, but I try to be open-minded when reputable people speak on matters they are knowledgeable about. Bonus points for his tongue-twister name.

Another GREAT video as always Dylan! Left my obligatory comment and like for the algo! - *Life extension*: As a gen X'er, I really hope this comes to pass before I die. Not to live forever, but only to survive long enough until I can upload my brain into a Matrix and live forever in there! - *Disney Bots*: I just LOVE those cute little guys! I wish they'd make a Huey, Duey and Louey from the epic movie "Silent Running" as I'd much prefer to have these cute little guys running around my garden, going on walks and riding in my car with me that pointless humanoid robotic "assistants"! - *As for X*: I hope that Elon makes a Search engine and X-Mail (he's hinted at that one) as gmail completely sucks and I use Proton Mail Pro instead, as it has a MUCH nicer and intuitive interface

Hey. Ya'll ever think when the countdown to AGI reaches 100% the Ai invents time manipulation in a split second and suddenly over the course of 2.5 seconds the world just explodes and we live in a AI dominated society, with all our leaders removed and made average citizens?

Sweet, we got another tick to 76 percent during my birth month. I hope we gets the most during this month. 😂 That car voice feature totally won't be abused by car thieves that use ai voice mimicry in the future. 🙄 I sure hope they have a secondary security feature. I'm glad I'm an introvert and don't have to worry about anyone nutting in my ear. 😂 I mean it's obvious with any society different from your own, it's going to look strange due to not being raised in that culture. That's just how it is. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I bet November or December is at least a +3% increase with those months alone, year end technology releases have boosted it consistently past couple years. We also seem to gain 1% monthly on average. (Excluding about 2 months per year sometimes)

The ‘no sex’ policy of the olympic committee always cracks me up. Even the thought that collapsing beds will stop these magnificent athletes from being able to do it… ‘Well Gina, you are the most attractive woman I’ve ever met. Mentally driven and a perfect physical specimen, like myself, overcoming all obstacles to achieve perfection. I would like to be with you, but this bed was not designed to bear our weight, so I guess we are going to have to call the whole thing off.’

15:00 Automated highways was an episode of a show called "Beyond 2000" that used to air on TV back in the 1990s. They have been working on that technology for decades. I think they hold it back because car insurance and repair is big business and anything that reduces accidents reduces profits.

Love the swarm intellect! I feel like A.I. will be helping human species actually become more 'organic' in this sense. More 'group' functional, as maybe our brain evolution has been out-pacing our group instincts a bit, and we end up with things like malfunctional governance and such .. new tech like this may bring us in a 'full circle' so to speak, back to a more organic 'hive' intuition way of being, perhaps more akin to our earlier spec-ial ancestries. Feeling more encouraged, and excited for the future of humanity!

3D Printed Food, More than the meal bars and soups I have commented about. Why would anyone print a steak that tastes like chicken? ‘Why wouldn’t they print a chicken breast that looks like…’ A comment was that 3D printing beef would cause as much pollution as razing a cow. ‘How much pollution is made to make the electricity used by a 3D printer?’ We can turn 2D images into 3D images with a new AI. ‘I guess that is useful if you have a 3D printer.’ Dylan tells us about a video he saw where a man who should know better tells us there is definitely otherworldly higher intelligence in our world. ‘If there was other worldly higher intelligence on this planet, they would know better than to let us know…’
