Very nice! thank you for the tips. BTW, if you did not know, the model you did "137543" was the Skyraider that shot down a Mig-17 over Vietnam. the last propeller aircraft to shoot down a jet

I am enjoying all your videos. I'm getting back into modeling in my golden years. I too am doing my own version of Mustang Madness. The first one is a Monogram P51B to warm up my modeling skills and that is what I grew up with. The other victims are an Airfix and a Tamiya. I will spruce up the interiors with aftermarket parts but no P/E stuff. Thanks for warning about the trouble spots. You are doing outstanding work.

I noticed when you removed the mask over the hinumara it pulled up some of the red, leaving a silver area. Later in the vid it appeared you fixed it. How did you do that? I think the most difficult camo I have ever done was the mottling on German aircraft.

Hi, thanks for the video I have an issue doing this myself though.. I have done as you say but when I put my scale into the scaled print size it still shows as hige and only a portion of the plane is visible on the print window.. I've even tried scaling it to.the exact size you say on here but the image is far too large for an a4 piece of paper.. any ideas? Thanks

To blend acrylic paints I recomend you start with layering to get a rough sketch on how you want the light to fall on the object, then you come back with a glaze to blend it all together. That is a quick and dirty way, but you can get really nice looking results from it. You can always go back and make more highlights on top of the glaze and just keep layering it. There is also wet blending, but you should still have a layered sketch underneath that to map where the highlights go.

The Jammer Pod is based on the base location. the 131 would be in Europe, but the 184 would be used in Korea and the US, especially at Shaw where a lot of the CJs are located. It has the largest pod shop in the AF, maintaining pods for other bases as well.

I’m getting ready to start this kit as Paper Tiger 2, the “toilet bomber”. An interesting connection to the history you mentioned is that this Tamiya kit has decals for the wingman of that toilet bomber (577) and I think that was the plane that shot down the MiG.

Great work. As a Brit a got to say the Spitfire was a fine looking plane but I really like the look of the Mustang a bit better. I used to fly RC planes and bought a used RC Mustang. No know knew who's design it was. It flew on a (I think) a .40 size engine and had retractable undercarriage. It flew like it was on rails and I remember flying it on a lovely still summers day at the club I was a member of near Swindon. It was an old RAF base (Wroughton) and is home to the Science museums reserve collection. I was doing low fast passes up the runway being egged on by my club mates with the call 'lower' after each pass. On the last pass I over did it and there was the sound of the prop clipping the runway. I climbed straight away and managed to do a circuit and land ok. We reckoned I took a 1/4" of off the tips. How I got away with that I don't know.
