Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness Is The Most Beautiful Album To Have Ever Made In The History Of Modern Rock Music. It's The Story Of The Sun That Falls In Love With The Moon. Like The Day Needs The Night To Start Another Day Again...

If Billy could sing like this again, the Pumpkins would be the kings of Rock. This is what many are talking about when referring to Billy’s old voice compared to now.

This song always brings back so many memories of the one who got away. I hope she is doing well. I used to look forward to driving down to Lancaster from Bakersfield to see her every chance I got.

Damn, man. There are so many gems on this album. Everyone knows of Tonight, Tonight and 1979 but this track really captures the essence of the album. Breathtaking.

i’ve never really done anything with my life… i’ve just killed time… its all just been a fake rampage to numb my misspent youth… never really lived… everybody would say they know what i need… which i just get in the way of… and remind myself how misplaced i’m truly… just there… to exist just to exist… with nothing to show forth… nobody nowhere really does understand me… i wish i could have lived… sigh… but all my dreams are… lost at sea… i’m truly alone in my sad little empty existence which i can’t even escape… just a ghost… forever roaming… all alone and forgotten… meaningless… there is no one that could ever know the true pain of one’s existence… i wish that i didn’t sleep alone… wish someone could hold me… just feel… love… resting in the bathroom… and wasting time… for those fading ticking seconds will be what kills us all in the end… sigh… in ambients its so lonely… i don’t want to be lost to time… i want someone to at least remember… remember that i just existed… you will just disintegrate with time… just like all in existence… sigh… all alone again… so alone…

This song is SUCH an underrated masterpiece. Every guitar chord conveys a gut-wrenching melancholy, heartbreak and deep lingering... so brilliantly executed that you can almost taste the pain and feel the burden of that forever love. Billy is simply an emotional genius.

When you listen to this (or any) song... your subjective interpretations and emotions... through the lyrics OR the melody... well, it means what it means to you. I used to listen to this on a cassette walkman on repeat (new fancy tech allowed you to rewind to beginning of a song xD) So of course I had... MY interpretation of what this song was about. Turns out it was about his autistic brother... didn't see that coming.

I legit love you Winston and have followed you for years but you need to stop talking about “doctors” when you are not one. I care about China…I am married to a “Chinese doctor”. Unbelievable cringe in western society.

god the nostalgia i get from this song… times change and people go away… all throughout a darkened room with creeping starlight and porcelain loneliness… sigh…

it's INSANE to look back and listen to the caliber of songs that were written in the early 90s. AIC, STP, Pearl Jam, Sound Garden created a whole genre of B side tracks that got looked over just because of their hits. Meanwhile they were pumping out gut wretching songs like this just because they were just so good as song writers

STRONGLY AGREE!!! In fact... for at least 7 decades - each decade seemed to have its own theme that set it apart... but after 2000? lets see, we got 2000-2010... autotune? Justin beiber... 2010-2020 new bands coming out all the time recreating the sounds of the other decades with good music. Everyone is always complaining about "millennials"... but all this nonsense has to be GEN Y LOL.

My girlfriend lived alone with her mother, they moved 17 times in 10 years. Two schools per year on average. She said she was so unhappy, no brother no sister no father. To say she has some issues is an understatement. Abusive stepfathers. Alcohol and drugs and neglected. Breaks my heart.
