How different is this service from a 2021 Fox 38 grip2 VVC? In particular the damper, but overall as well if anyone has information on it. Btw my DPX2 is still running buttery smooth after a full rebuild. Thanks

Hello guys! I did the hack with an m4 12mm track bolt on my slx bl m 7100 brake lever. According to my practical experience, the performance of the brake improved when the screw was unrolled, and the braking effect increased. I think the "stupidity" on Shimano's part is that the screw is wound all the way down. In my opinion, this is logically consistent with the fact that the xt brake lever screw is 10mm from the factory and the bleeding must be done when the screw is unscrewed.

A little tip, before you order a parts kit and you want to get rid of a side wobble, simple flip the shims inside-out.

Love your videos. Could I put the maxima light oil on top of the air shaft before screwing the air cap back in? I don't have any of the older oil or maxima heavy. Also, is it worth pulling the air shaft out at 100hrs, cleaning the seals, and regreasing? I usually wait for 200hrs and send it to SRAM.

Hey Zoub! Part of your damper tear down seems to be missing from your video, about the 45:30 mark.

Another great video as always. I got one for you though. I have a Float DPS in the shop right now. The original issue was that the lockout switch didn't work. I rebuilt the whole shock, including the remote, but still no lift. I i install the whole only the piston screw (to maximum depth) and the lockout rod (without the plate, the rod sink like 2-3 mm _below_ the top of the piston screw. You can imagine that if the whole shim stack and piston, and top plate is installed, the lockout rod does even get close to touch the cam of the lockout remote. Any ideas? Basically, the shock is stuff in lockout at all time. Thanks in advance!

Is it possible to put a remote lockout on a Rockshox rear suspension? Or is it necessary to buy a shock that have that? I am asking because I see no opinions on the internet and your video came just right:). I see that you say something about disassemble the eyelet and you don't recommend it.

@antone975111 күн бұрын
Was going to do this service but I think I'll just buy a new non-Fox post that is easy to service. Fox should be ashamed of the design of this post. It's easier and not much more expensive to toss it in the bin and buy a new one than spend the time and money on the air fill adaptor alone. Screw you Fox.

Hi man, first I have been following your channel for a while and I totally enjoyed every single video I have watched: great stuff and very instructional, certainly teached me a lot. Do you have any bad experience with the seal on the V2? I recently got a steal on a used one and the factory seal seems a bit loose on the stanchion so I am wondering if the SFK upgraded seal is the way to go? Thanks in advance. Keep up the good work

I totally disagree, its heavy and not needed at all, bikes nowadays got fat and weird with super wide handlebars. My 10 years old Intense Spider 2 ready to ride with spd weighs 21lbs, same goes for my daughters Cannondale Scalpel. All these extra gadgets make for heavy ride. Say hi to Ada.
@deinon-thanatos370111 күн бұрын
You joking or something? Cut the weight weening: a couple of pounds do not make a difference unless you are constantly on the limit, i.e. you either are an atlete or you are taking yourself way too serious lol
@michaw167411 күн бұрын
@@deinon-thanatos3701 no I am not joking, for me ist useless ballast. I am not cutting weight, there is no purely weight oriented stuff on my bikes. Its just very high quality stuff made from very good materials. My Intense for example is full XTR with ti click pedals and very nice chris king hub based wheels, titanium spokes. If I wanted to cut weight I could probably go down 2 lbs per both mentioned bikes but this would affect durability. I started mtbiking 20+ years ago and kept all my bikes along the way. Modern bikes remind me of modern cars, too big and too heavy for no good reason.
@deinon-thanatos370111 күн бұрын
@@michaw1674 modern mtbs are far more capable than older ones, it is safe to say that a modern trail bike is superior to a 20 years old downhill bike. If you have tried a dropper seatpost and did not find it useful it is fine: I guess you just don't ride steep trails.
@michaw167411 күн бұрын
@@deinon-thanatos3701 if I need to be on steep part I get my ass behind the seat and I’m perfectly fine with that. I did that all my life, no issue. I tested modern bikes and find them too big, not nimble and heavy. It could be different if I just started riding, but I developed my habits over time. I live near woods and often ride trials with sand, small hills. I am in Europe and we don’t really have many bike parks like in USA. My daughter is only 14 so she is still working on technique. For her small, light and nimble 26” wheel bike is an advantage. We go to the mountains occasionally, but no dh stuff. I have my old Karpiel Armageddon with Super Monster but I’m too old for this stuff ;-) Looks great on my wall though!

Fox tools are the most complicated things in the universe! I’m after the air fill adapter tool which you specify as 803-01-985 in this video but its listed as 803-04-055 on the fox website under the 2022+ Float X service page. Well interestingly enough… I cant see to find either! And the former, that you mentioned, seems to be discontinued. Im so flippin confused 🤦♂️

Hello, good morning. Greetings from Chile. Ask about the hydraulic purge of the Sid Ultimate and I followed all the steps in your video in the purge.. and everything was fine. I installed and assembled the fork. I went out to test it but I found that it was a bit Hard when sinking, is it normal or was the hydraulic left with a lot of oil????? .since when measuring the rod that comes out of the body to where the beginning of the thread is, it is 19 centimeters..... the path is very smooth or it will have that Be at 18 centimeters so that it is softer to the touch???? thank you greetings

I wonder what the cost difference is between buying these service items and the tools vs the service. The soft jaws seem to be almost necessary. Great video! Thanks!
@zoubtube12 күн бұрын
Good question! It really depends. A full service these days is like $180-$200! Most tools are common. You can save a ton if you buy 3rd party fox propriety tools instead of the official Fox tools. Honestly, you can get all the tools you need for less than $200, excluding the vice and torque wrench, lots of options there. If you keep your fork and shock for a while, it totally pays off. My advice, especially if you're not near a service shop, is to pitch in with some riding buddies to have a suspension service weekend party! It's way cheaper and a lot more fun"

Sorry to hear that, man. What a bummer! I recently made a video about a friend's DPS shock that snapped after a Fox service because they over-torqued it. The shaft is replaceable, but there's a crucial step in the replacement process that I didn't cover. Let me know if you'd be interested in a video about replacing the shaft. We'll get you back riding in no time!" 👍
